Definitely worth seeing !!! Stunning views. Just buy your tickets online in advance and be careful with people who sells them in front of the Collosseum .

It’s unreal and so beautiful to witness it in yourself. The place was so busy but beautiful.

If you are in Rome highly recommended to visit.

When I was at the Trevi fountain in 1977 I threw in a coin so returning to Rome in 2023 I had to go back and see it.
Still beautiful, still the most impressive fountain I have seen…of course it’s busy but the crowd were good natured and someone offered me a seat so after resting a while I paid someone else the same courtesy.

People were not taking selfies in 1977 of course, I wonder what they will be doing 2069… hopefully still enjoying this incredible work of art.

It is really impressive to walk across this beautiful piazza with all the typical, colorful Roman buildings and the monuments.

Loved visiting this church, so glad we made a point to walk over. I loved this church just as much as Peter’s Basilica. It’s free,
We did the colosseum had lunch on the way to the church then got Gelato after the church.

The Villa Borghese Gallery will have you saying Wow! the moment you step inside the first gallery! There are two levels of galleries and simply stunning ceiling artwork that requires time spent marvelling at the work created by various artists. There are spectacular sculptures as well as artwork that amaze you. It is truly worth spending a couple of hours to see this Gallery.

What a wonderful part of Roma! The Trastevere is a quieter part of Roma that is just as exciting, less expensive & better more genuine food than most other areas. Fantastic old streets, Restaurants, Cafes & Bars. Highly recommended

We breezed through the gardens and mansions, and focussed on the palace for the Emperors. The ruins are the size of a few football fields. Signs about the buildings and site are very good, so this can be easily done on your own.

The explanatory signage at the Forum is excellent. Almost every structure - buildings, arches, colums, etc. - is explained, and there are also explanations of their history and use (there are also signs with etchings from the 1700s, so you can see how things were 300 years ago).

I last visited here 50 years ago so enjoyed another look at this huge monolithic edifice.
It’s a warm climb in the summer but well worth it as the views are amazing.
We went in the morning in September and it wasn’t crazy busy.

The roundabout below the monument was being excavated so it was messy (but it is Rome after all) and there was scaffolding at the front of the monument so our view looking up from the bottom was bit obscured…..but it’s an incredible spectacle nonetheless.

I remember seeing old film footage of Mussolini holding a rally here, the scale of it is incredible.
You can pay to go inside the museum, I was a bit confused by what was free and what was not, we didn’t pay to go inside or in the elevator in the end….the free views we were getting of the city after climbing the stairs were awesome anyway.
We could have spent a couple of hours here, I’m looking forward to returning.

We were delighted we made the reservation a month in advance because it was completely booked for days. You only have a 2-hour window, and within that time, you must turn in all items, including purses.

Yes, this is the Bishop of Rome’s church. And who is the Bishop of Rome? The Pope, of course. This is where he gives sermons on the most important catholic holidays days. The second most important church in Rome, after San Pietro. And not too far from beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore. Fantastic mosaics, but most importantly – the ORIGINAL DOORS OF THE ROMAN SENATE, we are talking 2000 years+… Do not wear shorts (man or woman), they won’t let you enter. Lovely cloister and Roman artifacts museum (€4 admission charge). Convenient taxi stand right in front, Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano.

Never before have I ever witnessed somewhere so ostentatious, the art, the history, everything from floor to ceiling is so flamboyant in such an incredible way. You feel like you’re walking in the footsteps of people with such historic importance, and even if you aren’t religious it is an amazing opportunity to see some truly magnificent artwork. My mind was blown.
You could spend 100 years looking at the art on display and still find something new every time you looked around.
