What travelers are saying
- LancsLad2Lancashire50 contributionsExcellent farmers market - with a very friendly atmosphere- lots to eat and drink whilst there as well as to buy. The quality of the food was excellent. Beers were good and wine cheap!Written February 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amjad FAnn Arbor, MI3 contributionsI spent 4 days in Rome with my family. Every morning we start out by picking fresh fruits from Antica fruitteria . The fruits were high quality and fresh. He service was excellent.
I recommend the fresh figs, apricots, plums and the round cucumbers.Written August 14, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - dapper777Monaco32,432 contributionsIt is a real feast for the eyes.
The Tuscolano III covered market in the Quadraro district, in Viale Spartaco, with its 120 stalls ranging from many genres (food, of course, but also many non-food and services).
is by far one of the largest local markets of Rome.
Here you can still breathe the atmosphere of the best popular Roman tradition, unfortunately forgotten in too many other areas of the city. Excellent quality products, many farm-to-table products from the land of the Appia Antica park and from the Lazio region.
Without forgetting that the "L'angolo del Pane" counter has such a spectacular red pizza that is that it is unmatched!
Sellers are always very kind and ready to give advice.
Traditional
It has a covered hall.
Fruit, vegetables, fish, bread, meat, grains, dry fruit, herbs and spices, nuts etc.
Prices are certainly lower than supermarkets.
If you go early in the morning, the stalls offer you a show of colors that changes with each season.
In short, you buy quality products in an atmosphere and setting of times gone by, now completely disappeared.
In addition, all the sellers are ready to help you and very kind in serving.

This covered market located in the heart of the most commercial part of the Prati district has almost everything.
Fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, groceries, bread, meats, fish and even products for cleaning the house.
It is a feast for the eyes.
Very attractive to look at.
Perhaps a little less attractive for its prices, which are definitely higher than those ones in the Roman supermarkets.
Not all the booths are open, and the feeling of emptiness is disappointing.
We recommend to visit it if you have some spare time and you are in the area.Written July 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Meat, fish, poultry, vegatables, fruits, cheeses, dry goods (shoes, socks, bras, panties, cookware, etc). Vendors very friendly. After it closes for the day, children play around in the area.Written March 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dapper777Monaco32,432 contributionsWe had never taken a tour inside this local fruit and vegetable market.
It is smaller than other markets of the same kind in other Roman districts. However we loved Mercato Latino when we visited some days ago.
We went on a food tour here and there were still the Christmas decorations.
The market is nice, yet the prices aren't as low as they want you to believe.
There is everything you could want. Everyone is very nice.
The place is bustling with vendors selling all types of food, pastas, cheese, pulses, breads, vegetables, cured meat, fish, flowers, you name it.
It was a nice experience.Written January 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
