- HengistScotlandNew Pitsligo, UK212 contributionsThis place has a good CONAD supermarket, and a food court upstairs with outlets including McDonalds, KFC, and a couple of pizza places. Beware of Spizze, which will serve you watery and fairly rubbish pizza. Open failry late, so handy for eating if you didn't manage while out and about.Written April 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwallinsGosport, UK29 contributionsFamily run buisness. Very friendly and helpful not pushy at all. Allowed us to sample the product. Amazing product, we bought more than we would have had we not tried it. Reasonably priced to.Written August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PattyofStJoeSaint Joseph, MI63 contributionsThis wonderful store was such a blessing to find. I am in Pompei for three weeks, and I needed a coffee press desperately, because my rental property has an induction stovetop that does not heat up my aluminum Italian coffee pot. So, after many attempts to find it, I was led to this fine shop, which has all the housewares you might need. The proprietor showed me two coffee presses right away, I bought the large one, and I’m back in business. Be advised, this shop is closed over the lunch hours, but was open back up at 4pm. Shopping in Pompei can be a challenge, so I hope this review is helpful, because this shop is great! It is near the cathedral.Written May 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KarenM1_10Bloomfield Hills, Michigan900 contributionsWe were on a tour from our cruise ship, and it stopped here on our way to Sorrento, which was not indicated on the tour when we booked. This is a lovely store and the demo of cameo making was very interesting. However, we were not interested is purchasing cameos. If you are interested, the 25 minutes that we spent there would not have been sufficient to peruse the store. If you are looking to purchase a cameo, make sure you know what you are looking for before arriving since they have a large number of offerings.Written November 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sam LLondon, UK5 contributionsNice shop with some beautiful sculptures & jewellery for sale. The prices were extortionate, but staff were very friendly.
Even with the prices as high as they were, the pieces of art they have up for grabs are a superior quality.Written February 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He created a nice environment for us and offered to help us in selection of wines. We chose a delectable rosso toscano. He further surprised us with 2 bowls of savoury crackers to go along with our bottle of wine and some lounge music to build on the ambience. When we were about to leave, he offered us 2 shots of a dessert caramel liquer to end our wonderful experience.Written January 27, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Will be in Rome in April, and would like to spend a day in Pompeii, and would like a guide. Better to book the expensive tours that include transportation, and amalfi as well as Pompeii, or travel independently and hire the guide at Pompeii? I will be with a 14 year old boy, not sure that his interest in seeing sorrento or positano will justify the extra cost. And while it would be much more convenient to have someone drive us there, is it worth the extra money?
Answer: There are tours given at the park itself. Look it up online when you purchase your tickets and reserve a time.
Anything else for a one day trip to Amalfi is a waste of money. There is not enough time to do the Amalfi coast justice, and you will be spending a good chunk of time traveling. A good visit to Pompai takes a few hours, it’s enormous.
The HV (high velocity) train Rome-Naples is much quicker and cheaper than a car and driver. To make it simpler you could take a taxi from Napoli train station to the park instead of taking the local train. Otherwise, just next door to the Napoli Centrale station there is the circumvesuviana station where you will catch a train that drops you off right at one of the main entrances to the park. It also stops at Ercolano if you like archaeological sites, which is pretty incredible too. I almost liked it better than Pompei…
