This is by far our most favorite museum in Naples and Italy. No photos were allowed inside. You have to see the sculptures in person to really admire them. We made reservations online 2 days ahead of time and waited in line for 15 mins before being let through. We would go back here anytime.

We chose the Memory Lane your and enjoyed it very much. I don’t think one should skip it when in Naples. Our guide, Martina, was friendly and did a great job in explaining to us about the history of the tunnels that even my youngest daughter aged 4 was captivated by it! Not only that I learnt from the tour, but I like it that it left an impression on my children. We still talk about Galleria Bourbonica until today 😊

When visiting Naples, I highly recommend seeing a performance here rather than simply visiting. How incredible to attend a show in the world's oldest opera house. It's breathtaking!

Super interesting English language tour with guide Agostino!
His English is great, he´s friendly, very knowledgeable and had a great way of telling stories and making their history very interesting and humorous! He interacted with his tour group a lot.
Great way of spending 1-2 hours (should you have bad weather, defo do this!)

    Highly recommend!

This was one of the best and informative tours my husband and I did during our visit to Naples. The guide Antonio was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history, the catacombs and the church. He is part of a cooperative raising funds and awareness to enhance what once was a dangerous and poor neighbourhood but is now thriving thanks to work with the community and increasing tourism. He was an outstanding guide and we can't praise him highly enough. Worth a visit. The nativity scene at the end is so beautiful and the meaning of each section is explained in detail. We enjoyed this tour even more than the larger complex at San Gennaro. One ticket let's you access both sets of catacombs. They are around 15 minutes walk apart. The ticket is valid for a year but you need to book a time slot with the English speaking guide. These are hourly abd each tour lasts an hour.

Impressive medieval castle dating back to 1279. It was a royal seat for kings of Naples, Aragon and Spain until 1815. Today it is the home of the Neapolitan Society of Homeland History. It has a spectacular location overlooking the harbor and touring inside offers panoramic views. We didn't get inside but it was still an amazing sight.

Amazing architecture from mosaic floors to ceiling. What a nice place to visit. Most stores were closed during Christmas/New year except for Starbucks.

Extremely interesting museum focused on the history of medicine, and in Naples, in particular. Many unique and fascinating medical tools are displayed. A guided tour in Italian brings the highlights to fore. Unfortunately, the historic pharmacy was closed for restoration when I visited, but enough to see otherwise to make the trip.

Somewhat difficult to access, as there is a large iron gate that protects the entire complex of the Incurabili, but a guard called and museum and let me in. Well worth the effort. Not to be missed if you are interesting in the medical field and/or history.

This church was built between 1283 and 1324.

It is location is in a square of the same name bordered by the vibrant Spaccanapoli. Its also home to one of the three spires of Naples: monumental columns built to celebrate the end of the plague.

It has as Gothic façade the interior is decorated with intricate gold details, has tall columns and a dramatic altar, and has many paintings and sculptures.

Its a beautiful historic church and worth visiting in Naples.

What an interesting site! We don't speak much Italian and happened to arrive on a day when the member of the team who speaks the best English wasn't around, but we still had a very interesting tour led by one of the family who excavated the site and turned it into an underground home for eight decades ago. Gives you an interesting feel for the neighborhood and its people and the resourcefulness of the Napoletani.

Visited Vele today. Alone. Came from center by train. Came inside to two of a buildings to ground floor and 1st floor. In fact not so risky as locals say. Yes, you can meet some Scampian guys around but all in all it depends personaly on you - are looking as easy victim or not.
