Took my family to Italy and booked the trip to Sorrento, Amalfi, and Positano. When we got on the bus, we hit it off with our tour guide Gabriel immediately. This guy was amazing. First of all, he speaks 3 languages, so whether you speak English, Spanish, or Italian, he can point out all the sites and give you a quick history lesson, making the tour even better. And even though we just met him that day, it felt like we’d known him forever, as he was very personable and embracing. My entire family lived him, and me the dad, feels like he is a solid individual, which is very big praise where i come from. And after the trip was over, he also gave us recommendations to THE BEST restaurant, right in the heart of Naples. This was a spot some tourists may not know about, and it was definitely worth going to.
I would be remiss to leave out our driver, Rino. He gave us free water (it was super hot that day!), and he drive a bus with skill that you don’t see often. To put it plain: Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi - they’re up in the mountains. Winding roads, sheer cliffs, tight turns - I was looking out the window wondering how is this guy able to so deftly move a bus through here? Some of the women in the group were frightened of the heights. And I’ll admit, its not what we’re used to back in the States. But Rino handled it. He did his job. And He did it well. A+ driver.
Have I gone on too long? Maybe. But this was a great excursion, snd I want to give the men who made it possible their credit. And if you can get Gabriel and Rino on tour next excursion, you should.
P.S. i included a photo I took of Gabriel at lunch.
