Wonderful charcuterie selection … we left it to the staff to build us lunch and they didn’t disappoint … the meats, cheeses and vegetables were wonderful, as was the wine … a favourite place we returned to again and again … and look forward to revisiting … ciao !!!

As we were walking up this elegant street, we realized that this must be the area in Naples for exclusive shopping. We saw a lot of shops with fancy and renowned brand names.

The architecture of the buildings is also upper class - beautiful neoclassic and modern building from the XIX. and XX. century.

For the two of us, the most interesting was the narrow part of the street, close to the Piazza Trieste e Trento. Unfortunately, we were caught in a shower or two, so we had to carry an umbrella. But maybe we were lucky as the street was not overcrowded! We even had to descend underground to the Toledo metro station, but we did not see the beautiful platform, which was further downstairs.

Went looking for this shop specifically after reading about it, what a great place!
The owner Mario was welcoming and patient, explaining about the shop's history and why the umbrellas are so special and it took me a while to choose between all the lovely types and colors. Thoroughly enjoyable, and who doesn't want a sturdy beautiful umbrella to carry around in rainy days:)

This shop is amazing! Lots of beautiful things that are very affordable. I bought a pair of gold plated mother of pearl earrings for €12!! And a quartz bracelet for €15. I have allergy to certain metals and the owner was honest and told that some items I was interested in were not gold plated. I am very happy with my purchase and surely would go back there again if I am in Naples in future. 💕

If you visit Naples, you need to make sure, before you leave, to visit this small shop specialised in selling amulets of good luck, in the true spirit of such a famously superstitious city. Items go from Pompeian inspired pagan phallic pendants to be placed at your entrance door, to large canvases depicting the city Patron, Saint Gennaro. There are also owls, horns, pulcinella (local theatre mask), etc. All items, from the smaller to the bigger ones are made by local artists and you can buy hand crafted artefacts in bronze, terracotta or silver. It's nice to bring home a small concentrate of energy from this vibrant volcanic city!

I could have spent all afternoon hanging out and chatting here. I was having one of those days when my train to Sorrento (I was going in search of cameos) was cancelled bc a strike, then the funicular was closed so I walked up the hill (it's a lot of steps!) only to find that the restaurant I was looking for was closed. I was about to give up on Napoli. The owner found me in his window because the cameos are so beautiful and I stopped to admire them. Such incredible artistry! I will treasure my cameo. I am grateful to have found them.

It is worth visiting not only the shop on the road, but also the wider selection on the 1st floor of the building (entrance on the side of the shop). The ties are the known core business of Marinella, but I found the foulards, scarves, watches and fountain pens (made by Delta for M.) amazing.
The selection is very wide. Prices are at times beyond exclusive and some of the more senior staff are perhaps too relaxed and could smile more.

There a few old bookshops in Naples & one or two are even converted to very trendy Bars.
This a lovely old bookshop & the man behind the counter is very helpful.
    Lots of character.
The postal system he has takes rather a long time- my postcard took 2 months to reach the US.

It is one of the great bars I visited here in Naples. It is a welcoming place thanks to the employees and also to the owners. It offers some of the many appreciated Neapolitan specialties, really good!
There is a fabulous atmosphere, especially with the decorations set up at Christmas time. If I came back here in Naples, I would definitely revisit it! Thanks so much!

We purchased two large vessels and one was broken in transit as it was poorly packaged. We did buy insurance and the owner has been jerking us around for nearly two years on shipping a replacement. Beautiful work but does not "do the right thing." Recommend you buy from one of the other many ceramic shops.
