- lb11112018Hopewell Junction, NY10 contributionsWe had the best time cooking and laughing with Maria and her cousin Francesco. The gardens, full of lemons, were beautiful. How lucky are they to have a farm with such magnificent views over the Bay. We drank wine and made gnocchi, eggplant parm and tiramisu. Their homemade limoncello was the best I’ve ever tasted.

Turns out it was in the foreigners club, where we were met by the friendly chef which would lead our class. He offered refreshments and a comfortable place to sit as we waited for the other couple who would be joining us. Once we got into the transfer car he began to tell us about the local culture as we passed each place. Once we arrived at the cooking place it was lovely, everything set out beautifully. The overall cooking experience was amazing! Such fun and everybody got involved. Even if it’s your first time making pasta it was lovely with no pressure!!! The end result was even better, enjoyed all three dishes we prepared! I came away from the class with several new recipes that I can cook for family and friends. This was a fantastic way to spend the day and it was nice to meet other travelers. I enjoy every minutes of course. Two professional chef-teacher tought us during 3 hours. - Six Bowls10 contributionsA highlight of our week in Sorrento during the last week of October. Anna G. and Julia were so bright and patient with us, and were outstanding hosts. We enjoyed ravioli, beef, and tiramisu as advertised, with plenty of water, wine, and prosecco. The transportation from the Sorrento train station was prompt, friendly, and safe. We’re looking forward to applying our new knowledge in our own kitchen. Strongly recommend a night with Chez Barone, especially if Anna G. Then, we enjoyed eating our tasty creations while sitting in the gardens and overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Thoroughly enjoyed learning from Martina. We made gnocci with tomato sauce and tagliatelle, and the best tiramisu ever, all while sipping wine and and ejoying aperitivo. The cooking was hands-on, and they explained everything so well. From the conversations to the cocktails to the antipasto to the pasta making to the tiramisu to the wine, everything was first-rate. I'm a U.S.-based travel agent and I wouldn't hesitate to send my clients here. It was a very special class with so much warmth from the chef. Even the driver was warm and courteous. Claudio taught our class and I wouldn’t want anyone else. He made the class FUN and easy to understand! He also made sure to take plenty of photos of my fiancé and I. The pizza was delicious and we were served prosecco and wine throughout. We left feeling like we really learned a new skill!
