- DreNew York City, NY1 contributionWe went as part of a tour group, where we got to learn more about the history of the family mill as well as the way the farm functions within the small space that it has. They had about 7 cattle, as I remember, geese and other fowl, as well as trees upon trees of delicious-looking fruit. We learned about how olive juice was squeezed in the mill, left in the pit to separate, and the oil was collected to be refined; amongst many other secrets about how the farm is set up. We got to watch Nona create a delicious braid of mozzarella, some of us made pizza, and altogether we had a delicious farmhouse dinner. I'd never seen tomatoes such a vivid red. And the ricotta with the milleflora honey... I can still taste it a week later. It was STUNNING how delicious it was. I got a jar. How could I not?
Rosa is incredibly knowledgable and passionate, and you can tell how much their family loves what they do. You can tell it's hard work, but it's hard work they truly believe in and that they wouldn't dream of another life. You can taste their passion in their food and the aroma of the produce in their farm was intoxicating.
They are also very accommodating of allergies! If you have food allergies or intolerances, let them know and they will give you a flag that will let the staff know that they need to give you modified choices or steer you away from certain dishes. But rest assured; you will NOT leave hungry.
Also, we had 6 more days of travel, 6 more days of new cities; and theirs was still some of the best limoncello we had on the trip. - Wesley R2 contributionsTerrerosse is a magical gem of a place, different than all the other shops in Sorrento. At Terrerosse, all the art and pottery is original and beautiful! Wondrous sea creatures, lemons and olives, and Sorrentine mythology, all hand-crafted and painted in vibrant, glorious colors. Alessandro and Enrica, the owners, are lovely and kind, and they are artists of the highest skill.
We had so much fun visiting the shop, watching them work, and hearing about their art! We wanted to buy some of their bowls, but the ones we picked out were already sold and we were leaving less than two days later. Despite the very tight timeline, they crafted, painted, fired, and glazed four new bowls for us with designs and color schemes we chose! We couldn't believe they were able to finish them in time (they went to a huge effort for us!), and we were so happy with the result! (pictures attached)

Last year we brought a beautiful chiming clock. It is such with such ease that
it was shipped back to New Zealand. Elsa was wonderful to deal with. We will be back again when we visit family in Italy. The products are superior to other places in Italy. I am very sad that the website is down and no one returns my emails. There is a huge variety of handbags of different leathers available. Natan also shorten leather belts so they fit perfectly. We made 'gnocchi' and tasted the products of the farm with our included 'gnocchi' meal. The mozzarella demonstration was culturally accurate and informative - and fun! The personnel are extremely knowledgeable and great hosts. - bob cScottsdale, AZ5 contributionsStayed in Sorrento as our base for Amalfi Coast visit. Asked Nino our Path of the Gods tour guide to recommend the best deli and cheeses in Sorrento. He didn’t hesitate, “Apreda”.
Apreda is both a fabulous deli, with outstanding meats, homemade cheeses, prepared Italian dishes, and outdoor seating. In addition, Giovanni the owner made my family, his family. He was warm and engaging.
I told Giovanni that all I wanted was to pick out the local wine and he could choose the rest of our meal, sampling cheese, meats, and prepared meals. That began a procession of fabulous food, wine, and discussion ( highly recommend their homemade/fresh ricotta and eggplant parm - tastes exactly like my Italian mom’s).
Highest compliment I can give, we went back a second time for our final meal and it also was an amazing experience.

I have never asked but I suspect all such places compensate the tour company for their patronage in bringing groups here.
Having said that, the merchandise is amazing is you like inlaid wood. Our guide said this was the only industry in Sorrento (other than hosting tourists). We got a short lecture about the process for making inlaid wood objects which was interesting. The craftsmanship is stunning, and they have every kind of furniture imaginable from large dining tables, to small jewelry boxes, even drink coasters. The prices reflect the craftsmanship, however so don't be expecting a bargain. I looked at lots of items and they were glad to allow photos of their work, but I didn't see anything that was super affordable for me. If you are looking for a nice unique piece that may become a family heirloom, this is for consideration, otherwise enjoy the pieces of artwork and appreciate the craftsmanship.
