Playa de Calblanque
#1 of 94 things to do in Cartagena
The waves can be big - which we love - but does t make it very family friendly on a breezy day.
There is a nudist spot at one end of the park, but many more stretches of beach for families as well.
Museo Nacional de Arqueologia Subacuatica
#11 of 94 things to do in Cartagena
It's great for children and adults and shows how archaeologists work with underwater sites to piece together history.
The museum was exceptional in that most of the information was written in Spanish and English and there were many modern, interactive displays for children and adults alike.

In the evenings and especially on weekends, you'll find whole families out for a stroll.
The most fabulous costumes of over 3,000 children and adults parade down the streets and finally down Calle Mayor.

Most of the information is in Spanish but there is enough in English to retain your interest, and there are some superb model ships and boats, so young children would love it too.

Museo Del Teatro Romano
#4 of 94 things to do in Cartagena
After entry, which was much more economical then expected for 6 adults and 4 children, you wander at your own pace through a series of room each with interesting artefacts, all well explained in English.
The kids weren’t super impressed obviously but it really doesn’t take that long to do the museum that takes you into the theatre so definitely manageable.

Bit difficult for push chairs due to the uneven floor - carved rock isn't precise - also perhaps younger children are best shielded for a while from the inhumanities of mankind.
