    Nice cafe in a bookstore
    During our short Madrid visit, we were looking for a place to have a coffee and have some rest. The cafe fulfilled our needs in that sense. Some details:
    Atmosphere: Quite nice, cosy
    Menu: Simple foods (sandwich, tortilla, etc.) and drinks
    Prices: Prices were average. We paid for a tortilla 2,5€ and for cappuccino something around 2€
    Staff: They were kind but cannot speak English

    All in all, nice cafe. If you are around, you can stop by.

    A well stocked public library
    This modern library is well used and has wifi and toilets if you need them. Lots of books and staff should you need help.

    This should be one of your first stops in Madrid and Barcelona!
    We are not fluent in Spanish, but wanted to pick up books in areas of interest in Spanish and found some great books in humanities an social science-type subjects. The staff was very helpful in leading us to good books. This is a great source of guidebooks in Spanish and English (and other languages). We visited the Madrid branch on Gran Via, as well as a few branches in Barcelona. We’ll be back!
