The Circulo de Bellas Artes was founded in 1880 by a small group of artists. This building for the headquarters of the Circulo was completed in 1926 by the architect Antonio Palacios who is known for such emblematic buildings as the Palacio de Cibeles, the Bank of Spain, and the Palacio de Maudes.

The rooftop of the Circulo de Bellas Artes has spectacular views of Madrid, with some buildings of Gran Via like the Metropolis being very close. You can find a bar and restaurant here. For the lift, you have to buy a ticket.

We were a little bit confused because the ticket says that it is a combi ticket for the lift and the exhibition but we couldn't get into the exhibition with this ticket. However, the ticket was just 5 euros. For us, the views covered that price.

Book your tour in advance. I wish I would have planned better. It's a gorgeous building. Wish I had signed up for an official tour.

This is a fantastic convention center, where we attended two events - Desafio Dali (pavilion 5.1 - an interactive journey through Dali's life) and El Mago Yunke (pavilion 1 - a fantastic magic show).
The convention center is easily accessible by Metro (Feria de Madrid station).

This is the best place I've found to study in Madrid yet. It's dead silent, there's lots of outlets, and this is all before I mention you are in an absolutely gorgeous building- it truly feels like the inside of a palace. There is tons of natural light, seating, and if you are hungry or thirsty there are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. I have and will continue to recommend this library to study at!

During our short Madrid visit, we were looking for a place to have a coffee and have some rest. The cafe fulfilled our needs in that sense. Some details:
    Atmosphere: Quite nice, cosy
Menu: Simple foods (sandwich, tortilla, etc.) and drinks
Prices: Prices were average. We paid for a tortilla 2,5€ and for cappuccino something around 2€
Staff: They were kind but cannot speak English

All in all, nice cafe. If you are around, you can stop by.

I passed by this building when exploring Retiro Park. I understand it is a cultural centre to host exhibitions, theatre and concerts. It was closed when I was there. Nice to take a photo of its exterior.
