What travelers are saying
- Kimkf2014Denver, CO207 contributionsThis is a fun way to see Madrid from above. It is especially great if you have children, as there is a fun park at the top to play in before making the return trip down.Written May 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TravelluverCoDownCo Down91 contributionsDo be aware when travelling on high-speed Renfe railway in Spain.
Our journey from Madrid to Barcelona a few weeks ago was fine – excepting that security wouldn’t allow my treasured Bear Grylls knife (stored in my backpack), on board.
Yes, you must go through security similar to an airport Central Search and this may take some time.
The train was exceptionally comfortable and there was great WiFi with a choice of movies and a dining car.
However, on the return trip I became more and more suspicious that Ryanair had become the owner of the company! Firstly we discovered on a reminder email sent the day before our journey that there were baggage regulations – the same as with flying. Each bag over ‘cabin bag size’ would cost 15 euros; if not prepaid, the price would double!
There was some confusion at the ‘boarding gate’ where people were held in queues for 20 minutes prior to being allowed to proceed to the platform. More and more like Ryanair, they even had those racks to measure your baggage and clumps of people hanging around while charges for excess baggage were being calculated.
On-board, it was still comfortable though there were no food options available, just a vending machine at 2.60 for a can of Pepsi! ..and the WiFi kept cutting out until it became impossible.
Going through the booking process there had been nothing stand-out to tell us we were actually opting for the so called 'low-cost option' – and for us the price worked out the same as the initial outbound journey.
The happy ending – well I got my knife back in Madrid! I actually use it quite a lot, particularly when on the farm.Written May 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LaurenMarrero2New York1 contributionWe had an amazing transfer experience from the airport to our hotel!! Our driver was extremely attentive & accommodating as we were traveling with an 11 month old. It was smooth & easy . We highly recommend & we will use this company any time we visit Madrid .Written May 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Anya154 contributionsWhat a great experience with a knowledgeable and resourceful guide Elisabeth! She is fun too!! Visit to the Eagle's Nest, beautiful views on the way to Berchtesgaden and back, and of course mesmerizing Bavarian Alps - we enjoyed every bit of the trip.Written May 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- ZitatravelLondon, UK708 contributionsPretty good. Easy to understand clean and some announcements were in English. Ticket machine was easy to understand and pay.Written February 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KitchieVMMillingen aan de Rijn, The Netherlands14 contributionsThe trip was truly memorable. We were very fortunate to meet Raul to have a private tour to the Bodegas Andres Morate and Bodegas Jesus Diaz! Given our limited schedule, Raul tailored fit the tour for me, my husband and my friends. We appreciate that we get to see family-owned wineries. The tour was very personal with loads of information and history. Not to mention, the lunch we had was really delicious. We hope to bring more family members for such a great tour.Written December 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Driver met us at the baggage claim (side note, make sure you ask gate attendant which way to go to baggage claim departing plane - two choices), was very friendly and vehicle was very comfortable.Written December 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
