I would always reccomend these kinds of tours to get a feel for the lay of the land when you go into a new city.
The bus tours end at 10pm during summer.

I have done many food tours and this was the absolute best ever !! We had the pleasure of doing the Tapas tour with James .He is witty , informative and absolutely fantastic to spend time with !
James, our Scottish guide, had all the attributes I look for in a guide (I design group tours to Europe in the real world).

However, on every trip I squeeze in a few local guided tours so that I can enjoy the company of diverse individuals, with unique stories, passing through the same location.
I always try and take food tours when visiting a new city, as it is a great way to learn about the local culture.

I would recommend booking a couple of tours, we had an amazing guide called Luismi (Luis for short) who was funny, knowledgeable and spoke english pretty well (something quite hard to find in Spain...).
We got a great tour from Yanny and realized Segway is the way to go! Yanny really made the tour above and beyond what it already would have been.

The tour by bus was as promised giving a good orientation of Madrid but the Prado tour with the guide Carmen was outstanding We learned more in the 2 hours than a college art appreciation class of many years ago
The lady tour guide of Julia Travel is very adept and so well-informed of the vast artwork in the museum.

This is exactly the reason why we take the tours rather than just walk through the museum which will be totally worthless without these inputs from the guides.
We learned a lot about the selected paintings but the tour was long.

Many of these tours depend on the guide, and our tour guide from Amigo Tours was excellent.
One look at the long lines and tours busses arriving as we finished our tour, we were very happy with our choice to pay extra for early access.

After an excellent experience with Secret Food Tours in Rome, I signed us up for Madrid's Secret Food Tour with Jorge and WOW...it was a fabulous tour!
We've done food tours in other cities, and Jorge did a fantastic job in terms of balancing walking, eating and drinking, while explaining interesting cultural and historical aspects of Madrid.

As compared to the other wine & tapas tasting tours which I also did in Madrid in the last few days, Daniel provided very detailed information with his personal anecdotes of the historical landscape of Madrid.
My wife and I have taken many walking tours in many different cities, but Daniel was the most engaging and knowledgeable we've ever encountered.

We have typically enjoyed the tours we booked through T A and Viator but this particular tour was over the top great!
I was hesitant to sign up for any of the tapas tours as I'm generally skeptical of the quality of food and wine for these kinds of things.
