Great ham, superbe selection… service ok, fast and efficient. Not a super friendly touch but got what I needed. The ham was real nice, properly served with a good house wine.

This place, near the Prado claims to have been been around since 1776. Even says so on the sign outside! (I was grateful there was nothing left from then)! Wonderful chocolate. Samples abound so I could tell why they’ve been around for almost 250 years. They are renowned more so for their turrone (nougat). Also there are a variety of barks, bars, novelty items, marzipans and much more. Reasonably priced for this level of quality product.. Nobody knew anything about comparable Belgian Callebaut, but then again we are in Spain.

It's a beautiful little shop in my favorite area, the Barrio de las Letras. Everything in the store is made in Spain. They have ceramics from all over spain. I love the linen table cloths and aprons. It's different every time I go.

This was our second time at this store. Hand made silk scarves with beautiful design. Not often could you walk into a shop and purchase something that was just made right off the rack. Different prices for different scarves. You must go, you won't be disappointed!!

An incredible find and place to shop for Spanish ceramics! It is family run and has been since about 1904. They have been doing business with many of the same family ceramic businesses since then for multi generations. This is not a place for mass produced ceramics, although they do have matching place settings. Much of what they have are original pieces. There is everything. Small and large pieces. All hand cast and painted. We bought gifts to take back as well as a bowl and sugar and cream pitcher. If you are interested in handmade ceramics from around Spain, I highly suggest a visit.

We booked a wine tasting session for two people during our long weekend of sightseeing in Madrid.

My boyfriend is really into his wines so this was a great way to spend 3 hrs in the afternoon.

JP - the owner and our host - was knowledgeable about the wines and helped us practice our tasting techniques! He even had a map of Spain to show us all the different wine regions. He is really friendly and easy to talk to.

The tasting itself was with 4 beautiful wines and at the end we had booked some Tapas - WOW - the food was as good as the wine. Beautiful Iberica hams, cheeses and fresh bread.

We left quite merry and very full up.
I’d recommend it for anyone who has an interest in Spanish wine and wants to try something different to the usual tourist attractions.

I saw this shop on television so really wanted to visit. Oozes history and so affordable to pick up little boxes as gifts for friends. Staff very friendly. A tiny shop with a lovely window display and very historic.

This nice neighborhood market located in the heart of La Latina. There food, wine, second hand and other shops. The market is not big and not fancy like Mercado San Miguel, but you can really feel here the local atmosphere and be away of lots of tourists. Nice stop if you are in La Latina. Enjoy!

If you are looking for Latin American grocery’s this is the place. You’ll find Venezuelan and Colombian grocery’s to prepare classic dishes for both countries.

Great place to eat Venezuelan cachapas (Corn bread) and empanadas. Awesome Venezuelan desserts (eg. tres leches) and natural juices (eg. jugo de guyaba).

If you are curious about Latin American cucine don’t hesitate to go.

Not to hard to find spot. So many choices to make. We didn’t have to wait long when we got there at 12nn. We made many requests and were accommodated.

Very interesting market in the old railway station. Market is spread out around the trains and includes craftmen stands with food, accesories, clothes etc. Outside there are a bunch of food trucks for a bite. Went by surprise and was one interesting gem.

I had to visit this place to see all of the toy cars in their collection as I am a collector myself. I could spend hours but too many other things to see in this beautiful city!

Tucked away in a small backstreet but not too far from the hustle and bustle of Grand Via this shop has a historical heritage that goes back to 1863. The owner and his assistant are justifiably proud of what they have developed and if one needs hand-crafted espadrillos to fit even the smallest of adult sizes then they should not search any further than to visit this quaint little establishment. Stacks of examples of numerous shades are arranged in size order around the walls with signs advising patrons not to remove any footwear but to seek help. It is an enlightening and educational shop to visit and even if shoes are not required a quaint little grotto in which to step back in time.
