Visiting Casa Batlló with my family was an unforgettable experience that transported us into the artistic brilliance of Antoni Gaudí. Located in the heart of Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona, this architectural masterpiece is more than just a building—it’s a dreamlike journey through colors, curves, and creativity.

    Arrival & First Impressions
From the moment we arrived, the unique façade of Casa Batlló caught our attention. Its wavy lines, colorful mosaics, and dragon-like roof made it feel like something out of a fairytale. The queue was well-organized, and the pre-booked tickets helped us avoid long waiting times. The staff was friendly and provided smart guides (Augmented Reality tablets), which kept both adults and kids engaged.

    Exploring the Interior
The moment we stepped inside, we were amazed by the organic shapes, stained glass windows, and wooden doors that seemed alive with movement. The main hall had a ceiling that swirled like an ocean wave, and the staircase resembled a spine, adding to the underwater theme of the house.

The Noble Floor: The former residence of the Batlló family, with its breathtaking large windows overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. The natural light and sea-inspired details made this room a favorite for photos.

The Light Well: A central courtyard covered in blue ceramic tiles that change in shade as they go higher. This gave us a magical sense of depth and tranquility.

The Attic: White, ribbed archways that looked like the inside of a whale’s ribcage. It was both eerie and beautiful.

The Roof Terrace: This was the highlight of our visit! The dragon’s back-shaped roof with colorful scales and the chimneys with twisted shapes made us feel like we were in a surreal world.

    Family-Friendly Aspects
Casa Batlló is a great place for families. The interactive audio guide with augmented reality animations kept the kids entertained, and the playful architecture sparked their imagination. The stairs and narrow pathways might be tricky for very young children or strollers, but there was an elevator available.

    Final Thoughts
Our visit to Casa Batlló was nothing short of magical. It’s a must-see in Barcelona, whether you love architecture, history, or simply want to experience something extraordinary. The attention to detail, artistic vision, and immersive experience make it one of Gaudí’s finest works. If you’re traveling with family, be prepared to take many photos, enjoy an artistic adventure, and leave with lasting memories!

    Would I visit again? Absolutely!

Amazing view, nature, history and architecture together … it’s located on the height so it has wonderful view but if you are old or have children or in any situation you can’t walk uphill avoid it 😁 . There is lots of uphills at the park, in addition the hop on -off bus station is far from the park, you have to go uphills or take a taxi or bus. You should buy online ticket, no way to pay cash! By the way, there is no restaurant or coffee shop there, take water or anything you need to eat or drink.

We had a lovely time here but it is VERY crowded. You get a timed entrance ticket but it didn't seem to matter. We had to wait 30 minutes to enter the museum. But, the store was fantastic as wad the VR experience and the robokeeper. Worth a visit, but just be prepared for lines and a lot of crowds. Give yourself 2+ hours here.

The event begins at 9.30 p.m. and the venue fills up by 9 o'clock. Our arrival at 8:30 gave us excellent viewing locations. It lasts for an hour and is free. It was amazing during the thirty minutes that we watched it.

So much to see and experience as one wanders along Las Ramblas. Many stalls selling everything one can imagine. Must be aware of hustlers! Much construction happening making the walk a little hazardous.

A great grand park over to the side of and overlooking beautiful Barcelona, The park is quite large and there are many different sections to it, a lot of which, I am sure I did not see. A wonderful oasis to escape the city with great views each side of the small mountain. One of the greatest city parks that I have seen anywhere. Cablecars, castles and shrubbery galore. Go and explore!

So much to see and organised so well into different periods. There have been some big changes since my last visit and there is a lot of information guiding you through the changes that took place over time. The rooftop is also worth a visit to get some great views across the city.

This is a wonderful historic hospital complex barely a ten-minute walk from the Sagrada Familia, along a pedestrianised, tree-lined avenue. The exterior architecture of the various buildings is absolutely stunning. What we saw of the interior architecture and ornate decorative work was jaw-droppingly beautiful. Disappointingly though, during our visit towards the end of November, several of the twelve pavillions were not open which was a bummer.

The adult rate for a self-guided visit is currently 17 Euro. We easily spent an hour and a half on site, so considered it good value for money compared with Barcelona’s generally very expensive entry fees. There is a small, attractive gift shop in the main entrance building. Staff is very friendly, including at the information counter and at security screening. Conveniently, there are free lockers provided if one wishes to leave bags or coats behind; just don’t forget to retrace your steps instead of leaving the complex through the large Administration Complex. We were impressed by the cleanliness of all outdoor spaces and the visitor toilets were also spotless.

Despite our disappointment at the many closed pavillions, we would highly recommend a visit.

Magical place. Wife loved it. 10/10 worth visiting in the late afternoon or evening after the lights come on. Be prepared to meander, explore the myriad shops, cafes and restaurants.

We spent a heavily rainy Sunday morning here, this museum is amazing! It's interesting and funny for adults and kids, a lot of experiments people can directly try. This is highly recommended, despite it's always full of people! Booking is a must to avoid the long queues for tickets.

Very democratic beach, can play sports or swim with friends and family. Not dangerous waves but it can be dangerous for small kids alone. Bars and restaurants very close but what makes it perfect is the proximity to city centre.

I went to see the Automaton Museum & I wasn't disappointed, but the park is really meant for families with kids. Lots of rides and things to do, beautiful views. Be aware that the automatons are on timers and only operate when their start buttons turn green, so patience is a must. The location is a steep and expensive taxi ride and on-site parking is a nightmare, so best to take the park-and-ride bus or taxi to the funicular for access. Expect a lot of walking, often uphill.
