A very small house to visit but it’s relaxing and would feel you could sit around the venue and take in the beautiful decoration at leisure. Staff friendly and peaceful atmosphere.

Nice pace to stroll about for half and hour or so. This place gives the neighborhood Spanish charm. Not touristy at all. But I also saw several graffitis ‘Tourist go home’ sprayed on the walls.
Anyway, I didn’t feel unsafe unlike the horrific El Post.

Plaza del Sol is one of many in Barcelona. There quite a few cafes and restaurants in the area as well as many other shops. We were there during the day and appeared to be a nice area. Don't know about night time!

Everything is wrong : the address ( paseo de Gracia) , the localisation on the map, the pictures ( some are from the Casa de les Punxes and the others from a building at the corner of the plaza de Cataluña and paseo de Gracia) how could it be ???
The address is in fact calle Ballester, 12 near General Mitre and plaza Lesseps and it was the house of a collector that exhibits the dresses his mother wore, some paintings, nice furniture and china....

Cool area to walk around. Nice shopping area. Even though it's a bit classier than other parts I still found cool street art.

Very interesting point of view to understand what Spanish civil war was for lot of people. Outside the refugi they provide a brief explanation of Barcelona during that time.

Bancs Fanals were a group of fancy iron lamp posts with marble seats attached to at the bottom of the post.
They look cool but in all honesty I thought they were just lamp posts, there certainly not as beautiful as the Fanals in Placa Reial, that said they look cool and there's a few of them located in the Barri De Gracia area and on Passeig De Gracia which is one of Barcelona's most vibrant areas of the city.

The La Casa Ramos is a beautiful private residence in one of the most exclusive area Sarrià-Sant Gervasi , in Barcelona. Designed by the Jaume Torres i Grau, the building is very much in Noucentisme architectural style then in vogue as a reaction to the perceived ubiquity that Catalan Modernism had become. Actually there’s a lot to be said for the similarities between he two styles.

The building is designed with a mix of simpler facade with an intricately carved front piece of floral patterns. The different plants are differentiated into five different classes. The mezzanine floors from the 2nd up each have very attractive balconies with forged railings to complete the facade.

Worth a detour if in the area.

The Mare de Deu del Roser de Pompeia church is a nice medium size temple in neogothic style. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Its construction started specifically in 1908 under the architect Enric Sagnier's design.
The exterior is somehow impressive, the façade being of exposed brick except the pilasters on it, which are of sandstone. On the pediment above the portal there is a relief by the famous Catalan artist Josep Llimona, depicting St. Francis worshiping the Child in the arms of the Virgin. The façade stands out by its verticality, and in its central part a towered structure containing the said pediment and a small rose window is predominant. That part is framed by two other towered structures of a smaller size. On the apex of the aforesaid central structure there is a statue of St. Francis also made by the said sculptor Josep Llimona. The whole ensemble is eye catching.
It's a three-aisle church, the central nave being taller and much wider than the side aisles. These are separated from the nave by tall lobbed columns whose capitals are decorated with some foliage. The vault in the central nave includes a set of polychrome and gilded beams which are very nice. The ceiling of the side aisles follow to some extent the same pattern. Notwithstanding that, it's a flat one and contrary to the beams in the nave vault, which, divided in several sections formed by the arches, span the length thereof, in the aisles they are placed along the width of the ceiling. That contrast appears to be rather peculiar and original and thus worth being observed.
Above the arches and close to the vault there are at both sides of the central nave a series of small three bent side windows thanks to which one can enjoy of a lot of brightness inside. As regards the side aisles, only on the wall of that on the right hand side upon entering the temple there are magnificent typically gothic stain glass windows. That's not the case as far as the other side is concerned where there are no windows at all since the pertinent wall is a partition one.
The chancel is a fabulous part of the building. The apse is of hexagonal shape with its upper part consisting of a body of tracery pointed arch windows. It's covered with a marvellous ribbed vault. The wall colour, the decoration, the light and all the described elements as well as the others, some of which are pointed out hereunder, make any sensitive person feel elated and pervaded with happiness.
The high altar is simple but its design is of an exquisite taste. The table made of white marble is supported by four short columns of the same material with their respective base and capital. Behind the altar, stuck to the apse wall there is a wonderful figure of the Virgin of the Rosary in a superbly decorated pointed arch niche. Everything is incredibly beautiful.
As to the rest of the church interior, the lamps made of wrouth iron and hanging from both aisles ceilings are outstanding on account of their peculiar design. The entrance to the temple inside is shaped as a portico. This is covered with a slab structure with polychrome and gilded wooden beams, which constitutes the base of the upper floor consisting in the tribune where the organ is located.
It's obvious therefore that the Mare de Deu del Roser de Pompeia church is a remarkably beautiful temple, particularly inside, where one feels himself in a peaceful and spiritually pleasing atmosphere, and thus it's a place which is worth visiting.

This cute little sculpture stands in tribute to Snow White (Blancanieves in Spanish). The sculpture depicts a young Snow White taken from the famous scene in the animated film when se sings to the forest animals, and in this sculpture to a fawn.

    Cute.
