The period at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century saw the building of these homes for the new wealth of the city most of whom made their fortunes in the textile business. With all the bikes -scate boards- electric scooters and motor bikes walking can be a challenge

- SwimsteveKingscliff, Australia343 contributionsI have been staying just off this long avenue for over twenty years and continue to come back with the main attraction the many excellent tapas bars and restaurants both on and down the side streets. There are many locals living in the area so not as touristy as some parts (if that's possible) but the restaurants seem to be frequented by local regulars especially the Poble Sec area. It isn’t a tremendously big courtyard but it’s peaceful and allowed for a bit of quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
