The buildings are beautiful with so many fun shops. Definitely a must see. We enjoyed the local clothing stores. Purchased a few souvenirs.

Walking down or up Las Ramblas is a must if in Barcelona. It has been cleaned up over the years, the street performers have gone as have some of the street vendors and now it is classier and more pleasant. Just off the street is the old town with its narrow streets and interesting shops , restaurants and historic sights.

There are many lovely and charming neighborhoods in BCN, and this one is my absolute favorite because it is so lively, especially at night when the many cafes and bars are crowded, mostly with youth. Many narrow streets to explore and a few big squares. You can find international food here.

It's clearly an urban area with unique features. One must start with the architectural designs of the buildings in the area. Add in the wide avenues, the hotels, both luxury and otherwise, and the bars and restaurants. It is very walkable even with all the traffic.

Ironically now a peaceful square only a few metres from the crowded alleys of the old town. During the civil war a bomb exploded which you can still see at the walls of the church.

This is the main street of the Born neighborhood, fairly open with lots of trees. And also lots of places to eat and drink, and some shops. Fun place to take a stroll and look for a place to have dinner.

While the Gothic quarter is the most famous in Barcelona, Ribera is likewise the similar historic district with a maze of narrow streets and alleys.
So, don't limit yourself, but walk further down - among many local cafes, bars, restaurants,...big attractions like Basilica Santa Maria del Mar and Picasso museum await you.

Cool area to walk around. Nice shopping area. Even though it's a bit classier than other parts I still found cool street art.

Apart from Picasso museum, there are many nice buildings around for photo taking.
The structure can hide out what will be at the next corner, the mystery was an interesting experience on its own.

Running from Placa d'Espanya, to the harbour, this is a lovely walk, plenty to see (an eclectic neighbourhood) on the way, what we especially like is the allocated bikeway in the centre of the roadway well away from pedestrians.

This is nostalgic place and very artsy. Only take a few mins to go around the place and admire this beauty. You definitely gonna pass by this place when you go around the cathedral. Take a moment to step inside, it's free.

We walked from our hotel to Glories shopping centre and stopped for the kids to play. There are 3 little parks. All enclosed. There's a basket ball court, we saw some table tennis and skaters using the facilities too.

We wandered along this “street” after visiting the Picasso Museum. It is wide enough for comfort and bordered by interesting buildings, shops and cafes. We enjoyed all of it. It was clean but a surprising number of Catalans smoke so be prepared if you are from North America.

One of the major cross town streets through the L'Eixample and beyond. As a result, there is a lot of traffic and noise. Lots of lovely buildings along the way as well as food and drink.
