Very nice and interesting to see. There’s a cable car that from National Park takes you to the top but doesn’t work on windy days. Cafeteria/ restaurant at “base camp”

Visited on a cloudy day but really enjoyed the views and general walking experience. Nice to see a natural park

A great place to explore with some great views thrown into the bargain.
We travelled by car from Santiago del Teide through Masca to Buenavista del Norte stopping every so often, when it was safe to do so, to take in the views. Be aware that the roads are very twisty, narrow in places and there are lots of hairpin bends with steep drops and no guard rails at times.
We were very intrigued by the hill with three large 'gashes' in its side - Montana La Sahorra and so we stopped to look at the information board (see photos).
This is good hiking country and the weather is, generally, cloudier than the popular south of the island and so the tops of the mountains can be shrouded at times. In fact when we visited the cloud was at such a height that, when we climbed out of Buenavista del Norte through Los Silos, we travelled through the cloud so ended up looking down onto it when we got to the El Tanque area.

If you go Icod you should really visit these gardens. There is a car park close by. The site house arguably the oldest tree in the world which you have to see. The gardens and surroundings are lovely and very interesting to walk around. Shame the cafe lets it down but that shouldn’t put anyone off visiting the gardens. Would recommend a visit here

Stopped here for a lunch time snack we had fish fingers which were actual strips of fish cooked in batter with chips and salad and lasagna this was a bit salty for my taste. Both were very good and tasty well worth a visit. The entertainment was provided by a drunken lady I think with mental issues wanting to be serviced breakfast which had finished and wanted us and others to interact with her and her swearing. Finally the management had enough of her and asked her to leave this she did but not before kicked the staff. Good food not the free entertainment.
