Meet the locals at 10am mass on Sunday morning. All in traditional lingo and singing in full voice . Well worth a visit

Its rather a nice basilica, a bit hidden but yet a pure piece of worship. The ceiling is beautiful, the painting on the eastside is a bit over the top yet different an worth your trip.

The most eye-catching of Santa Cruz's churches thank to its white walls and tower. It dates back to 1500 and was one of the first churches built on the island of Tenerife. Worth entering to take a look at the high altar and generally the interior.

We did not explore the church but we did ascend the Torre which houses the bells that still chime out as I found out when standing right by one! My hearing has only just recovered! The entry fee is 2 euro but well worth it as the views are across La Laguna and well beyond including being able to see the planes land at Tenerife North airport.

We visited here because we like to explore churches. Easy (and free) access with a baby stroller. Beautiful, peaceful place. Worth of visit!

This girl makes you feel that every night in Tramps amazing, tells you all the offers and does a good table service. I have never been so welcomed at any bar in Tenerife before :)

A moment of calm in a bustling town. The church has some impressive pieces of carving and the ceiling is lovely. I'm sure the pipe organ sounds beautiful when it is played. Definitely worth a drop in, and the square and gardens are nice too.

For 2 euros this Convento is well worth visiting, the sculptures in particular are very interesting.

I loved this church. I thought the entry fee was a bit high, but after going through this amazing church, I felt it was worth it. The museum houses some very old and interesting artefacts and the church is stunning. The wood carving, stained glass and various chapels are well worth the visit.

This was one of two convents that we got to see on our tour of La Laguna, although we did not get to go inside of either of them given timing (we did though see one of the few remaining nuns who live there emerge as we passed).
The attraction for me was to see the beautiful wooden 'viewing room' perched at the top, from which the nuns apparently could safely observe the world outside without being seen back!

This cave Church is just at the back of the big dominant Basilica on the main sq to the right. It's in fact the older one, carved in rock and later covered in rather simple island style house with Arabic style wooden ceiling.
The interior is austere with a black Madonna replica down at the end in the rock.
Beside it, there's another small rock sanctuary at the end of the seaside promenade under a huge rock. Perfect vistas from that point.
TIP: as the main Plaza is usually full with parking, here you'll find parking space.
