What travelers are saying
- David SMiddlesbrough, UK2,407 contributionsThe beach stretches from Meloneras in the West to Playa del Ingles in the East. Running parallel to the beach are many hotels and several restaurants. My wife and I walked along the Golden Sands several times when in the area and the surrounding beauty and relative silence fantastic.Written November 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Arnlaugur H43 contributionsA beach that strolls for 7 kilometres alongside Las Palmas with lot’s of restaurants on the way, beach benches and umbrellas at great prices is one of the best beaches we have encountered. - Ava C56 contributionsEvery time I am in Gran Canaria I go for a walk through the Dunas of Maspalomas. A place that makes an incredible impression and you can feel like in the desert. Perfect for a photo opportunity and definitely worth to visit.Written March 22, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YukiDordrecht, The Netherlands2 contributionsVery beautiful and clean beach with clear water. There are small fish swimming near the shore as well. The only problem was the parking, you need to come early if you want to immediately have a parking space for free. You might have to circle around a few times until someone leaves. Another option is parking in the underground parking space, which costs €6,50. It is often very busy here. I enjoyed my stay here, and I would recommend this beach.Written August 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HeyJay1976County Waterford, Ireland13 contributionsThird time over the last 8 years going to Palmitos park. Bird shows (exotic and birds of prey) are amazing. Same guy doing the shows since we came first. He is very entertaining and it’s fantastic that the birds are flying out in the open.
Dolphin show is well put together also. However getting a picture with the dolphin, the female trainer must have better communication skills with the dolphins than people. She was borderline rude.Tho I am finding a lot more of the Spanish people rude in general this time around. It is all one big upsell for your cash at the park.
Plenty animals to see around the park and all seem very well looked after and content.
Dined at the restaurant also. Totally overpriced for the quality offered. €18.10 for a burger and a few chips. €4.90 for a soft drink. Again staff not very friendly. One woman with short hair and glasses is in the wrong job. It’s not very clear where to stand when looking to get a table at busy times. They just walk past you and tell you to move out of the way. Twice I saw her being very rude to other people. Thought it was unnecessary.
In conclusion, I think the park is worth the entry fee when you get to see the quality of the shows. Worth a visit at least once.Written February 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a warm & charming town away from typical beach expectations. We stayed in Veintiuno hotel which was boutique & fabulous & ate in many local authentic & speciality restaurants, Indio Commido & Chiwawa to name but 2, so many bars to grab a pre-dinner glass of wine, El Monje de Santa Anna in the cathedral square was a favourite. We have used the bus service (number 12) to get to the port, amazing indoor market (we were here in carnival week so great vibe!) Also the aquarium is absolutely brilliant. I did not know what to expect when booking this holiday & have been pleasantly surprised every day!Written March 12, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lords Who TravelPoulton Le Fylde, UK194 contributionsThe Yumbo Centre is what it is. The transformation of shops during the day to other well known establishments is even to me surprising. One is generally “safe” if you stay on the ground floor with children. The shops are on the first and the second floor however the third is odd.
Some people take their children up stairs and I am shocked with some of the bars up there. While we were there during the day & at night we were offered drugs regularly.
Finally, when are the officials who look after the centre, going to give it a lick of paint? The building is looking decrepit and dirty. Not a very nice first impression!!Written March 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We parked in the Cruz de Los Llanos carpark and instead of taking the bus to the main trail, we decided to walk (5 km, moderate difficulty) to the Roque Nublo (be careful - you still need the permit to access the main path from this trail - highly recommend booking the entry in advance as spaces are limited). Make sure you bring good footware and plenty of water as it can get quite hot there.Written March 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - JetSetter03Halkirk, UK125 contributionsWe arrived slightly late so came in towards the end of the first show. This was fun as they let out goats and pigs for you to stroke, hold and feed. While waiting for the next show, you can walk around the set and go into some of the buildings. Best show was the main event where they drove cattle and horses past us, and the drunk actor was very funny! The other shows were in the saloon and by this time we ready to have a drink and then go, wasnt out cup of tea to stay for the remainder of the day, but lots of others joined in and stayed. Would definitely recommend for a different sort of day out. I would say you would need a couple of hours to a whole day there depending what you wanna do.Written February 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
