In the beginning, when we went to Gaztelugaxte as our first stop, I started raining. Nevertheless, the guide was well-prepared with rain capes. Thus, we barely got wet. Our guide provided a lot of interesting information and we recommend this trip. The venues were excellent and showed a variety of styles of decor and pintoxs. It was great to chat with a Basque local, Olaia gave us insight into the Basque culture and society while plying us with delicious food and wine. I never got a ticket and the link took me to the screenshot that says it's not a ticket. Then we went to another mind blowing winery with even a more modern style design. Marina was an incredible and warm -hearted tour guide with an immense knowledge! All the food and wine were delicious! I had a wonderful evening with very nice people! The wine tastings were exceptional, all of the local hosts were super friendly and told us interesting details about their wines. Zach filled us in on the history of the Basque culture and language (and wine-making too, of course). The scenery was beautiful and we had a lovely time. The area is beautiful and the architecture of the wineries is incredible. We learned so much at each vineyard we visited and had a blast. I want to give a special shout out to our tour guide, Marina. She did a fantastic job and made our tour such a special experience. We learned so much on the car ride to the vineyards and at each of our stops. She was an absolute joy to be around. She was very knowledgeable about the area and wines and took the time to answer all of our questions. By the end of the tour, we felt more like friends. Irene the owner is a top sommelier who is very friendly, polite and made wine reccomendations for us. He truly cares about his Basque heritage and history. Jose also has a magnificent personality, it was so easy to converse with him. We had a wonderful time spending the day with Jose.
