- YO_LOOK_AT_MESan Antonio, TX2,909 contributionsSituated directly across from Dulces Dreams Boutique Hostel and Café Gallery, the church from the outside doesn’t appear to be overly impressive; however, once you go inside you realize your initial perceptions were wrong. I loved the churches unique architecture with all its detail. It was in essence, a hidden gem as it had not even registered on our list of places to visit.Written January 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the heart of the wonderful Old Town ,this church looks really old but was in fact constructed in 1920 ,a great example of Neo Gothic architecture ,built from designs drew up by architect Fernando Guerrero Strachan in 1907 ,it's facade is awesome such a photogenic church that's just so well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Plaza De San Ignacio.Written November 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The grand stairwells with their fresco domes are impressive. The mosaics on display are amazing, particularly the byzantine mosaic. The courtyard with painted tiles and the fountain with painted tiles of fish and mermaids is such a peaceful place.
We enjoyed sitting to watch the video of the craftsmen producing glass bottles, corks for the wine bottles and oak barrels. We visited Monday morning and was pleasantly surprised to discover it was free then.Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
