Staedel Museum
#1 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
Undoubtedly, one of the best art museums around (next to Lenbachhaus, RA, Prado): well curated, spacious, pretty well explained and of impressive architecture (enjoy the mix of traditional and futuristic buildings).
The gallery/museum is in a nice location among other museums at the Main riverside, so afterward your museum feet can enjoy the riverside path or sit on a bench with a good view over the river to the 'modern' side.

DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum

I made an effort to visit this museum whilst in Frankfurt both for the permanent exhibition as well as the 2001 50th anniversary temporary exhibition-both were well worth checking out, and unlike some museums, it...
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey, this museum has great permanent exhibits about the history of film that were interactive and informative as well as a terrific tribute to...
Senckenberg Natural History Museum (Naturmuseum Senckenberg)
#5 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
The Senckenberg is one of the oldest and largest natural history museums in Germany with a great collection of dinosaur skeletons and early mammals.
This natural history museum has the greatest collection of dinosaur bones in Europe and is maybe the best I've seen; it's up there with the Washington, DC and New York museums.

I went to the museum to see an exhibition of the South African artist William Kentridge, and got amazed with the marvelous collection of sculptures they have there!
Get here and enjoy sculptures and paintings from the last 500 years, brilliant and calm atmosphere in a small museum situated in a grand old mansion.
Museum fur Kommunikation
#8 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
I’ve been to my share of museums in Europe & USA, and most with their dry, sterile-like environments leave my lids heavy within 30 min, and a body begging for a hammock.

Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt
#9 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
As an Art Dealer and 30 year veteran of art exhibitions world-wide, I have to say that the little Schirn could teach many major art museums a lesson or three.
If your in Frankfurt for a few days and enjoy museums, I recommend getting a museum pass at the tourist office for 18 euros.
Goethe Museum
#10 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
A wonderful museum, with beautifully presented material, a fascinating insight into one of Germany's most famous writers, the times he lived in.

It was interactive and all in English! it's hard to find museums that have both German and English and it's nice that so much was accessible to non-German speakers.
Excellent museum, it take you through the history of Money in the world, how to struck the Euro coins and the history of Gold.
Museum MMK fur Moderne Kunst
#12 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
If you're going to do museums in Frankfurt (and there are 26 I think) then I recommend instead of paying €10 each time you buy instead the 2-day museum pass for €18 which lets you visit them all.
This museum is spectacular both for its innovative exhibits and an architectural space that embraces the art in many sized rooms, some with soaring ceilings and windows to view from above.
#13 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
A small fee to pay for access to 2 museums (this one and the white building adjacent to it) for a peek into the historical artifacts in the Catholic Church.
The museum is a two centre venue- the first being on the site of the cathedral cloisters- and is a small but well designed space full of dignity and has a great display.
Museum Judengasse
#14 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
It's well worth the entrance fee and by all means.....get the 2 day...34 Museums ticket for 18 euros....to save LOTS on your complete visit.
The museum is also much more than just the archaeological exhibition, but it contains many interesting artifacts, tidbits of information and audiovisual elements.
Historisches Museum Frankfurt
#15 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
The museum staff are friendly and helpful (and most will make an effort to speak English as well), and it is one of the most enjoyable museums that I have visited anywhere in the world.
A well laid out museum which chronicles the history of Frankfurt from early times to present day via artifacts and informative displays, with a nice creative diorama of the city on the top floor.
Juedisches Museum
#16 of 46 Museums in Frankfurt
It was really close to Mainkai and other museums.
Afterwards you arrive the heart of the museum, the archelogocial part, you walk through the old streets , and you try to feel how it was 300 hunderds years ago, there are many papers that explain the stories, but...
