I was visiting Frankfurt and had a couple of hours to kill so decided to visit the Stadel Museum.

It is a very nice gallery with a wide variety of pictures to admire. I particularly enjoyed the landscapes and the religious pictures.

They have lockers to leave your bag and outdoor clothing which was very helpful. You need a one Euro coin to use them.

The galleries are on different floors but there are lifts to get you up and down.

They have a well stocked gift shop and restaurant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English which was useful for me as my German is not very good.

Terrific view of Frankfurt, even on an overcast evening. Nice to go up just before sunset, get pictures of the city, and the get pictures of the city lights when it gets dark. Nice option of enclosed viewing area or going upstairs to an open air viewing area.

There's some genuinely cool things to see here, from a butterfly house to some excellent succulents and palms. The signs are almost all bilingual (German/English), so if that's a concern, it shouldn't be! Strongly recommend.

The building is centered on a pleasant platz and has a stepped facade that is almost Dutch Renaissance in appearance.

Love the KMH in the Frankfurt inner city, definitely my favourite place to hang out at lunchtime. Amazing fresh food choices for groceries and food to go. All beautifully presented with lots of opportunities to try before you buy.

I am just going to repeat what everyone else says. Unlike many cathedrals in the this part of Germany, this has many gothic altarpieces and interesting artworks.

Great old school museum with a variety of exhibits. Must-sees include a hadrosaur mummy, the gallery on the diversity of marine reptiles, as well as the various funky extinct mammal skeletons.

Gift shop is definitely the weakest link here, but I'd likely disagree if I was a kid.

We visited the Frankfurt Christmas Market after having visited several in Vienna. I thought that we would be market-ed out by the time we got to the one in Frankfurt but, instead, we had a blast. I can't quite explain it, but this market felt a lot more like what I expected a Christmas market to be. The ones in Vienna had a lot of 'junk' shops...leather stalls, stalls selling stuff you see street vendors selling in squares in Rome and Florence, and just junky looking stuff. The main market in Frankfurt had a lot of food stalls, beer, how wine (of course) and some trinket stuff. But the overall feel was just different...better than what we had in Vienna. We ate a lot: bratwursts, potato fritters (awesome, and awesomely not good for you), chimney cakes, and tried all of the hot drinks. Frankfurt is so easy to get to compared to some of the other markets. I'd like to make it to some of those in smaller German towns, but this one was amazing.

Nice mixture of old architecture and new skycrapers. Close to shopping street with luxury brands. Must be seen.

Nice interactive museum. It shows real items from famous films (oscar, wigs, suits etc.) but also has an interactive part where you can make your own pics in a green box. Price is ok.

The home of Eintracht Frankfurt FC, this stadium looks quite spectacular from the outside as you approach it but as you get up close and walk around it's concourse you see it's really nothing more than a giant concrete block that has been shaped into a stadium. Basically it has been done on the cheap without any nice curves or designs to give it some kerb appeal. It has it's name emblazened upon it's roof which lights up blue at night along with the top parts of all the stands lighting up red.....this looked most impressive at the night game than it did during the day.
Inside the home fans made it a caldron of noise with an attendance of 50500 with the main home end brandishing hundreds of giant flags waving in the air and all other sides of the ground they had their black and white scarfs stretched out above their heads which made an impressive spectacle.
Great noisy fans but not such a great stadium.

This is a pleasant riverwalk lined with stately museums. You could easily spend a day visiting them all.

The cars and the atmosphere were nice. It was calm at that day (we were the only visitors) and many beautiful cars to see. An absolute must for a car enthusiast. Even my mom (who is not interested in cars) was appreciating Klassikstadt. It was a nice mix between cars from several decades, as well as being of various types (although of course most of them were sports cars). We also got to see an old Porsche 356 entering the building and replacing another car. The engine sound was pretty cool!

One thing to remember! Eat in advance, as there was no visible place to eat (at least when we were there). We went to a local hamburger shack close to a Harley Davidsson shop afterwards, which was only a minute or two away from Klassikstadt. That was really good, but it would have been nice to have been able to get a lunch at Klassikstadt.

Mainkai is a part of the main promenade along the river Main where you can take in exceptional views of the river, it’s bridges and skyscrapers. You can get some awesome photos especially on a clear day
