This area is located on the top of a small hill. The area was chosen by several artists who decided to join together and make a real art place where all their opera would be presented into a unique ensemble. The visit is strongly suggested during the summer and especially at the end of spring when nature is on its best.

I was delighted to find the Museum open on a Monday, I had read it was worth the trip and it absolutely is! It has an amazing and well rounded collection of cultural artifacts, antiquities and art, both modern and classic, as well as a significant palentology collection. There is also a very charming cafe, and of course a book store. Anyway, even if someone is not a museum lover, but others in the group are, there is literally something for everyone here. And with well done displays and information, fewer crowds than the Met or the Louvre, yet their collections are to the same standard, make this a really great find.

Really a beautiful church. Not big, but more than impressing. One of the most beautiful churches in Germany.

Yes, it should be like a painting as in fact some Austrian artist designed it not an architect. As it's an existing residential building you won't be able to go inside but you will be able to go around and witness all the curved lines and shapes weird windows and columns. Good place to visit for the people who have interest in architecture.

The vivarium is a nice little zoo, a few minutes away from city centre by bus number K or KU, close to nice walking trails in the odenwald. There are lots of small animals, birds and reptiles to be seen. If you lucky a peacock might be walking behind you. As children it was a must on a school trip in primary school time. In spring and summer it is a busy location.

Beautiful area for a relaxing walk. The rose garden offers many places to sit and beautifully laid out plant and flower beds, which invite you to linger and relax.

Beautiful architecture and pleasant garden on the outside.

I joined the German tour of the museum as this is the only way to see the museum.

Very interesting exhibits and lots of history.

At long last we have got the chance to visit the rain museum situated just off the main line and not that far from Darmstadt main rail station, as you go past on the train you can see old equipment in the sidings trucks carriages and engines.
There is a small museum building with displays and a place where you can get drinks
We got a guided tour in English by a really interesting guide he is seventy and used to be in the army all a can say is he know his onions .it was a great day out

This square, located nearly at the center of Darmstadt, is a useful meeting point. Being there allows pleasant relaxing walking. I was there during the winter in the evening, during a cold day and, it was not possible to enjoy the environment because it was raining too. On the other hand, during a sunny summer day, I am sure it would be completely different. I would suggest to start from here any visit to the old city and then to do some shopping in the surrounding commercial activities.

The Hochzeitsturm is an Art Nouveau feature in itself for the Unesco Heritage Site Mathildenhöhe. This colony is a must-see for all Art Nouveau lovers. What I found especially beautiful here are the 2 mosaics at the entrance. Gorgeous!

I walked past this place and found the architecture to be modern and interesting.

The building is built around the remains of an ancient wall, which is unusual.

It is a convention center and is open when there are events going on.

We came for a walk through this great park in the Northeast of Darmstadt.

All very well signposted and with a great mixture of plants and art.

No dogs allowed in the center/core of the Rosenhöhe.

My German wasn’t good enough to really enjoy the show, but it was a good time being with my wife’s family. We ate at the restaurant that’s attached to the playhouse and the food was okay. Nothing rememberable, but it was my mother in-law’s 80th birthday and she was having a good time. The crowd seemed to enjoy the performance and the show is good for all ages. I recommend going here.
