This is a nice park, that is close to a myriad of major attractions: Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the free Holocaust memorial. My friends and I enjoyed taking respite in the shade from the hot sun, reading our books and eating our lunches in the grass.

Spent a fabulous day visiting the animals at the zoo here in Berlin.
Would have loved to see a bit more information available in multi-languages. Obviously German was prioritised and some great information and there are fun facts for children available in English too.
The animal enclosures appear to be very roomy, especially in comparison to other zoos. Loved that there were so many zoo keepers on staff and that it was possible to see the various food options available for the animals.
We had great weather for our mid-week zoo visit which helped us through our ramble, often times we had to remind ourselves that we were still inside a very busy city.

awe-inspiring grandeur. A nice walk not for from a nice park with a beerhall and good coffee/ice cream. The design of the whole memorial is of insane proportions. Only 2 stops away from the STAZI museum. Complementary visit!

We enjoyed the walk and it was interesting to see all the luxury brand shops. We enjoyed the zoo and Gedächtniskirche at the other end of it.

the park is one of the most popular places for young residents of Berlin, especially from the fashionable district of Prenzlauer Berg, and attracts basketball players, jugglers, musicians, and many other types of people. It is a crowded leisure ground and a site of sustainable improvised nightlife, especially in the summer, and has also become notorious for Walpurgis Night riots in recent years. There are two stadiums next to the park, including Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark and Max-Schmeling-Halle, home to several of Berlin's local sports teams.

Fantastic botanic gardens on the outskirts of Berlin. Huge and beautifully presented glasshouses and huge grounds with plants arranged by area of the world the originated from. Lots of benches and its easy to get lost in the gardens. Most plants have helpful labels and there are lots of information boards in the glasshouses. There is a cafe near the glasshouses. Easily accessible by S bahn (S1) and/or bus. There is a stop called Botanischer Garten and its 10 mins walk from there, Under den Eichen entrance. Near the suburb of Steglitz, which is also worth a visit, you can get a bus to outside the gardens from there. There is also a museum for a separate entrance fee which is at the Konigin-Louise Strasse entrance.

We went to the Tierpark with our 7 year old twin boys in July. The park is huge! Very spacious, all the enclosures appear much bigger than other zoos that we have visited and the animals appeared well cared for. We spent all day there and we felt that the entry fee was very reasonable. It also included the electric train which was very useful at the end of the day for tired little legs. A note for any English visitors…all the talks are in German (as can only be expected) but the bird show is definitely worth a visit regardless.

Tempelhof Airport is full of history and since its closure the idea of turning it in to a park for me was an inspired one. It was very cool to walk the runway and see the imposing terminal building. Situated out of the city centre but 100% worth it and served by metro stations.

Seeing and experiencing is the only way to appreciate this wonder on the outskirts of Berlin. It is a breathtaking immersion in flora from different continents. However, note the food on sale is pricey so it would be smart to pack a picnic bag.

Good Aquarium to view on the side of the zoo. Got to see many different kinds of fish from all over the planet that were brought here to Berlin.

The island is nicely located in Berlin Wannsee and wonderful for a walk and talk whilst watching the peacocks and other birds. The restaurant on the island was closed for covid restrictions but the trip with the double decker bus through the woods and the little ferryboat alone was worth going there.

Immaculate large gardens with beautiful lakes. €9 for a family if 4. We took the little train around the whole site which was quite expensive well worth the money as we could not have covered the whole area by foot. Both the train and ice-cream kiosks are cash only.
    A wonderful day out.

This is an absolute must if you are visiting Berlin and want a day off from doing the usual city break activities.
Lovely clean beach with a large facilities complex which was built in the 30s but is well maintained.
Use the S Bahn to get there but don't get off at Wannsee. Get off one stop before at Nikolasse. 15 min walk along a wooded path to get to the beach past the cafes. 5 Euros to get in. YOU MUST BRING PHOTO ID TO GET IN. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Monument to Käthe Kollwitz-Schmidt, productive and prolific artist and sculptor, who left with her works quite a legacy, beloved by Berliners. Her works are spread all over, fro.lm Germany to Belgium. Her monument depicts Käthe at an old age, she was quite objective and honest in her depictions of herself. Nice execution, quite photogenic. The statue gleams where folks climb on top of it for a picture, or just to sit and see what Käthe sees. Nice work.
