- AvidTraveler12Winchester, UK1,824 contributionsThe history of German aviation all in one place, located in Gatow on the fringes of Berlin.
Located on an old military airfield, there are indoor and outdoor displays & you can get guided tours if you book in advance. Plenty of WWII aircraft and lots post war planes as well.Written May 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's based around two buildings formerly used by the US military when an allied zone. One building, the art deco cinema, was closed for refurbishment sadly. The other houses the main exhibits about the allied forces role in Berlin, including the famous Air Lift and the little known spy tunnel. Outside there is the real Checkpoint Charlie building, British military train carriage , an airlift plane and a border guard tower. It's free to enter although there's a €1 fee to enter some bits. Downsides: it's a bit small and there's no cafe (just an automat) but there are toilets. Young children might not enjoy it.Written September 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Darren M4 contributionsVisited the Olympic stadium for Hertha (2) v (3) Bayern Munich on 5/11/22 and noticed this place on the way out. The next day I travelled back in the U bahn to have a look and seen it was free to enter. A great insight and some amazing memorabilia! Well worth a look!Written November 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JarrodSalisbury, UK39 contributionsDiscovered this fantastic private museum in the grounds of the Olympic Stadion. Full of fascinating memorabilia of the history of the three Western Allied Forces and their civilian employees in Berlin from 1945 - 1994.Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
