I preferred the wall section of the museum which listed the main events in Germany between the 1920 and 1950, It was stunning to display the way the Nazi's changed the mindset of a whole nation within a short 10 to 15 years. A real roadmap for future dictators.

Absolutely incredible collection of museums. Spent two days here and still feel like I missed something. Must do in Berlin.

Every time I come to Berlin (which is about once a year), I make a ritual visit to the Golden Hat and Nefertiti at the Neues Museum. I always learn something new from the other permanent exhibits. In addition to being once again impressed by the good lighting and informative bilingual descriptions in the Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age galleries, I discovered the haunting notes from the replicated Bronze Age horns, whose sound transported me across millennia. Nefertiti was as timelessly lovely as ever, but this museum offers so much more.

A really interesting museum covering life in East Berlin and a world of 40+ years ago. Quite enjoyable and well worth a visit if you have time. Use of Berlin card to reduce cost was also helpful.

Well worth a visit for an authentic experience but allow at least 3 hours, even though the audio guide says 1.5 hours. Lots of reading involved and some good artifacts.

Went with my dad, we are both super into modern history. At the start we were a bit confused about the tour but the staff (mostly kind and nice) helped us and led us the right way. I recommend, do not stop at every little thing, it’s going to take aprox four hours like that. My legs were dying at the end, but that was just my fault for not speeding it up a bit.
The museum is really nice, modern, you get this obscure feeling from the building, which is supposed to be symbolic to the concentration camps I think. Overall we left, feeling really bumped out and numb, especially from the Memory Void (somehow I felt extremely anxious and disrespectful walking on the faces). If you’re going to Berlin, this is simply a must-see.

Wonderful diversion from the historic and cultural things to do in Berlin. We think there were approx 200 cars and/or motorcycles that had been restored or were in the process of being restored. And it’s free!

This is reasonably priced and your given a audio guide. This charts the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, from his birth, schooling, his paintings, his time in WW1 and his rise to the top of government, the atrocities and his death.
There are some graphic photos in the exhibition but it tells the truth about what happened.

To take it all in you need a good couple of hours.

    Well worth a visit.

Loved my visit here. The art was really thought provoking and I couldn’t believe it was free. Definitely worth a look if modern art is your thing!

I liked it very much :D An interesting option for a trip with young children. This is the only museum of wax figures that I have been to so I don’t have any comparison, but I think that this museum is worth visiting!

A great little add on for your trip to Berlin. Fun small streetart pieces all over the alley. Everything from beautiful art, political comments and fun pictures. Very creative and will definitely make your day a little better. Make sure to stop my the small shops in the building at the end of the alley :)

The berlin dungeon was a very fun experience, the actors were absolutely fantastic, but the free fall was not working, and we still had to pay a full price of 24£. It was said that the experience would be an hour long, but without the free fall it was about 40 min long. Overall a great experience, but they should not charge the full price if they their equipment is not working, or at least they should have told us in the beginning, that it isn't working.

Brilliant museum tucked away in the Kulturbrauerei, you may need to look at the map as you enter the area as there is a lot of businesses here. Free entry and absolutely full of fascinating displays, photos and items about living the in DDR, in which this building was a factory during that time. Also a seperate display of photos of German people living in a former “Communist model village”. I especially loved the Trabant tent. Nice shop with the cheapest prices of any where I went, get a mini Trabant model here for much less than anywhere else. Nice toilets too.
