This museum is excellent. It provides an overview, as well as a lot of details, about the rise of Nazism and its many crimes. Entry is free. It isn't really a museum with artifacts, but rather a thorough set of informational displays, including lots of photographs and their explanations. We spent about an hour here and were able to read much of the information, but not all of it. There's a lot to process here, but it's very well done.

Without a shadow of a doubt the Pergamonmuseum is one of the best museums in Germany, exhibits here will adtound you ,a vast collection of artifacts and relics will blow your mind ,set aside a good few hours here if you're planning a visit ,you'll lose track of time as you travel back through bygone ages ,a must go destination and easy to locate on Museum Island along Bodestraße.

We visited Museum Island more than once during our time in Berlin. It's a scenic location in the Spree River, so we enjoyed seeing the river flowing by with its boats. And, as the name suggests, it's filled with museums, as well as the Berlin Cathedral. Many of them are housed in beautiful buildings, so just enjoying the architecture can take a good chunk of time. The most famous pieces of the Pergamon Museum were closed when we were there, and we didn't have time for everything anyway, but we picked a couple museums that sounded most interesting to us and made time to visit them.

We only had time to visit one of the museums on Museum Island and chose this one. We were most excited to see the statue of Nefertiti, which was indeed impressive. But we also enjoyed the many other sights and artifacts that we saw here. We spent time in each of the sections of the museum, including the Stone Age/prehistory area, the Egyptian Collection (including Nefertiti), and artifacts from the lost city of Troy. We pre-purchased timed tickets for the museum, which was nice since we were able to enter right away, although a little stressful since we only had a 15 minute window to enter and had to make sure we arrived on time from our other sightseeing. Overall we spent 2 hours here and got a good overview and chance to see just about everything, although we could have easily spent more time if we had it listening to more information from the very good audio guide.

Just returned for this museum. Was packed full of information and very interactive.

Unfortunately the interactive layout does make the museum feel cramped at times (especially on a windy sunday morning in August). I’d recommend going early or during the week for a quieter experience.

There’s something for everyone here and you could easily spend a good couple of hours here.

I study history at university and found it all super interesting. I will likely return when next in Berlin!

We stumbled across this by accident. It was supposed to take 3 hours and we spent over 4 hours. We were deeply moved. This is a raw experience. Nothing is painted over. The commentary on the guide takes you along the journey, but reading the comments below helps take this to another level. It leaves you asking why. This is one of the most powerful displays, and even if you are a history buff, there are things you will learn. We would recommend this probably above everywhere else we went.

I visited the German Spy Museum, and it was an incredible experience! The museum is packed with interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, and fascinating stories about espionage. From learning about famous spies to decoding secret messages, every part of the visit was engaging.

One of the highlights was the laser maze, which was so much fun to try! There were also many hands-on activities that made the experience even more exciting. The museum does a great job of blending history with entertainment, making it enjoyable for both adults and kids.

Overall, it’s a must-visit for anyone interested in spies, technology, and history. Highly recommended!

The German Museum of Technology in Berlin is absolutely incredible! Its extensive exhibits cover aviation, shipping, railways, and more. The aviation hall, with a Douglas C-47 on the roof, is breathtaking. Interactive displays make it fun for all ages. A must-visit for anyone curious about science and engineering!

Fascinating… really brings to life the heartbreak and troubles that passed through the station.
    Educational and interactive.
Anecdotal video clippings that can be listened to in German and English.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Berlin.
    Free entry.

This museum, housed where some of the Stasi offices were, was a detailed and dense overview of the Stasi and their role in East Germany. Our son who is interested in Germany history was completely enthralled, and the rest of us also enjoyed learning a little more. There are some interesting rooms which are set up as they were, meeting rooms, or office/sleeping for the ministers. I found it a little frustrating that photos are allowed, but only if you pay extra for a "camera pass". We spent two hours here and saw and read most everything, although my son could easily have stayed longer.

Great museum with free entry offering a huge amount to see and do. Ideal for anyone wanting to know more about the history of the Jewish faith. Museum made great use of interactive technology in order to illustrate a range of topics. Particularly memorable was the summary of all the anti-Jewish laws that were passed by the Nazi party which were written on curtains in date order and hung from the ceiling. There is also a haunting installation made up of etched steel disks strewn along a corridor illustrating faces of all those who perished during WW2. Visitors were permitted to walk along the corridor stepping on the faces although my family found this upsetting and chose not to take part.

Visited for just a couple of hours which was nowhere near sufficient. Best to allow a whole day at least.

Deutsches Historisches Museum is a wonderful looking Museum building ,one of the oldest buildings along Unter Den Linden ,the building was constructed between 1695-1706 and constructed from designs from architect Johann Arnold Nering,Martin Grunberg,Andreas Schluter and Jean De Bodt ,this building is a beautiful example of Baroque style architecture, so photogenic, it was badly damaged during World War Two but rebuilt post war ,now home to the Deutsches Historisches Museum the building is currently closed for essential renovations ,its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Unter Den Linden.

Berlin is full of great and worthy museums, but this one truly stands out. It’s definitely worth your attention, even if it’s your first visit to the city.

The museum is perfect for visiting with children, but it’s also very engaging for adults. There are plenty of fascinating exhibits and interesting information presented in an interactive way. You can touch, experiment, and try many things yourself.

Time flies here in a fun and educational way. We absolutely love this place and have visited it more than once. Each visit brings new discoveries, lots of emotions, and joy. Highly recommended!
