Now all that is left of them are stolpersteins which are small brass squares on the ground which have their names, date of birth and the date they were murdered and in which death camp. Horrifying. No one reads them. I did just before I entered the interconnected pedestrian only courtyards with shops.
It is pleasant to walk there. We got pretty organic socks at Auerbach and chocolate truffles at Sawade. A nice diversion if you are in the area. I spent way too much money here (worth it!) on some really special items, and the owner Carsten is very dedicated to his business and helping support the Berlin artistic community. Inside we could see only the Rewe supermarket ready. Outside, it was much more pleasurable. Whether you’re looking for fashion, electronics, or just a quick bite, there’s something for everyone. I found it easy to navigate, and the atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming.
One thing I appreciated as a solo traveler was the variety of cafes and seating areas where I could take a break, people-watch, and enjoy the air conditioning—a nice escape from the summer heat. The mall also has a cinema, which I considered for an evening activity, but I ended up enjoying a meal at one of the food court’s diverse restaurants instead.
Overall, the East Side Mall is a solid spot for shopping or just taking a break during your Berlin adventures. things to build models, tools, thousands of materials, paints and canvas, CNC workshop, furniture shop, gifts ... everything high quality!
I almost forgot; the building is true Architecture!

It is really nice styled architecture which make it different from the most shopping malls in Berlin.
It is easy reachable by U-Bahn.

Don't await luxury shops. It's a low to middle class range.But a lot for one place.
You also find a supermarket,
