What travelers are saying
- itwasfunwhileitlastedenver, co192 contributionsWe had a great time at the KitKatKlub. It was our only free night so we could not be picky about the type of music, but if you have the luxury of picking a night with music you like, you'll have a much better time. Staff was exceptionally kind, great service. We went early and skipped the line around the block by the time we left.Written December 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bad Ass BabushkaNew York City, NY376 contributionsTruly exquisite club experience - there’s a reason people queue for hours. The queue is exactly the reason I won’t return, however, despite it being one of my most memorable nights out (hedonistic doesn’t even begin to cover it).
When I go out, it’s on and I’m on! I want to have fun, dance, interact with people. Standing meekly and quietly for hours (with the potential for not being let in!) isn’t my idea of a good time. But it’s an excellent, often-used marketing tool which in this case is exceedingly successful.Written January 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fitzgerald5Oxford, UK124 contributionsThe 19:77 cafe and bar is the new home of the Ramones Museum in Berlin. All the memorabilia is still there which is great but the main point of the review is to say how much we enjoyed the food and beer at the cafe. The onion rings were the best I have ever had and Maria even let us have the recipe for the batter! Such a lovely, friendly place and great vegetarian and vegan food.Written September 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steph MLondon, UK20 contributionsCame here last week whilst interrailing on our honeymoon. I was getting a bit worried when we were walking through all of the derelict neighbourhoods to get there, but there was such a great atmosphere once we were in, and I’m so glad that we went! Plenty of places to sit and relax, some have sand, some have decking. The pool was exceptionally clean, and the lifeguards looked very attentive. It would be tricky to get in and out of the pool via the ladder if you were unsteady in any way, so bear that in mind. The drinks there aren’t amazing, hence the 4 stars. We got cocktails but they tasted quite diluted, so I’d stick to soft drinks. Other thing to note is that there aren’t any showers so you’ll need to plan to do that elsewhere afterwards!
Would 100% recommend this place though.Written July 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But we found it really hard to find with no info about this on the website!! You have to come into the arcade and take the lift up to carpark 5 and then walk round the cornerWritten July 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jake CGreater Manchester, UK564 contributionsHolzmarkt is an electic mix of bars and street food vendors located by the River Spree. There is lots to be impressed by; not least the scenic spots to sit and enjoy a beer right on the river. There are also plenty of indoor spaces if you visit in the winter months.
I was also impressed by the quality of the food, I had one of the tastiest chicken burgers ever (it was huge), and the German pilsner went down excellently with our group. They have this cool deposit scheme where you pay two euros for a reusable glass and get the deposit back when you return the glass at the end of the night.
The food options are varied with cuisines from all over the world, and there are several bars so it never felt like we were queueing for ages even though the place was busy.
For a relaxed summers afternoon / evening in Berlin after some sightseeing, I would 100% recommend Holzmarkt 25.Written September 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stuff is looking a bit tired now but it’s still hysterical. You should book a table online, in advance. Staff were friendly, the DJ kept speaking to all the different tables and saying a lot of stuff we didn’t understand, everyone was laughing so it must have been funny. I thought my Deutsch was good but obviously not 😁. Great fun for a group of mates, drinks priced at a theme bar price, draft beer is cheaper. The tables had plenty to keep you occupied, including your own ‘loo roll holder’. I would return again.Written March 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tess1 contributionSlow to start. Doesn’t get busy till after 0100. Drinks are varied in strength per bartender. - Allan JBerlin, Germany44 contributionsOn the good side, Maxxim has really changed from the days when it was a white supremacist haven, but while the audience is infinitely better, the DJ has turned to bad and are now so incompetent they resort to airhorns like a country bumpkin DJWritten May 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PR VagabondSan Juan, Puerto Rico413 contributionsThe place does a decent job at attempting to recreate a cabaret of Berlin's roaring 20's, and the ambience and concept of the place are definitely nice. But while the intro on this page says it is one of the more risque shows in the city, please, there is nothing risque about it (we went to the 8pm show), especially in the context of what Berlin was like in the 20's. Risque is what happens in some of Berlin's discos at night, but not here. Put another way, if you've seen Berlin Babylon, this is not it. Also too bad that the place is located in such a modern and sterile neighborhood - so many places in the city where this club should be located instead. Nonetheless, I visited with some friends from Puerto Rico and we had a blast. Not speaking German is not an issue, and if you want a hint of what Berlin used to be like, this is a good, and possibly only choice remaining. So go - you will keep a unique place open and you will have a good time.Written January 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The waitress spoke French and a little German, was eager to take the orders but ran off before the rest of us had put in our requests. The music became progressively louder to the point where we decided to find another bar.Written April 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
