The whole castle looks like out of a fairytale, from the landscape to the dinning room inside of it. It took 11 years to finish the castle properly and it I can see why; the murals on every corner of the castle tells you different stories and feeling even though they follow the same art-style. Religious and political ideas were involved in the planning of the castle. This can be seen in particular in the throne hall. The paintings here show how Ludwig saw kingship "by the Grace of God": as a holy mission, with powers that the Bavarian king had never possessed. This castle belonged to King Ludwig II, who was pretty eccentric and reclusive, but this explains why the castle is full of amazing art and architecture, also located in a beautiful place.
