Excellent visit. Very immersive. Hugo our guide was very knowledgeable and very pleasant.
One comprehensive way to understand mining in 19th/20th century France. We recommend. Very good value for money.

Watched the Europa League game here versus Manchester United and having been to games home and away for over 20 years, this ground had the best atmosphere by far. The home fans outsang the United fans which is some achievement! No trouble from the local police and the fans around the ground were fine with away fans present. Plenty of searches outside of the ground and a number of barriers to pass to ensure that only ticket holders gained access.

There is a lot to see in this museum, although there were only 3 sections open: Ribbon making - where you can see a demonstration of this happening using the old machines; The history of bicycles - really great collection as there was with the History of guns. There are bar codes that can be scanned to obtain information, as due to Covid 19 none of the interactive screens is working. The ticket lasts all day - so you can look around, go out and do something else and then return. The only problem is, the Ribbon demonstration and bar code information is all in French. You can however get booklets in English. Don't forget to wear a mask!

It's a bit like where I grew up- an industrial town with a dash of history.
Back here after 23 years when our hosts got married.
    It has some character.
We didn't really explore mush of the town as we were house guests & but we did get to know the nice Railway station.

In a vast former armament plant, Cité du Design is an interesting mix of old and new, combining start-up incubator, design college and research center in 19th and 21st century buildings

I admired this church and I was also inside. I'm not sure how religious are French people, but the city has beautiful churches.
