Enjoyed walking around the impressive papal palace. The painted rooms are particularly stunning. The audio guide was helpful, but at times, it wasn't working too well. There are construction works taking place at the moment but they don't affect the visit.

I found the art very interesting. There was a Botticelli collection beyond his Venus, which was nice.

This is a must in Avignon but surely not the best attraction to see . Nice to walk on the bridge and to take some pictures but nothing else . In any case ….it’considered a must , so suggested to visit .

Located near the Palais de Papes, the Place de l'Horloge is main square filled with cafes, a theater and a carousel. Great place to grab a glass of local wine of a cafe and recharge ...

We loved Rue de Teinturiers! Reminder of Medical times. Unfortunately we visited on a Sunday so there were not many shops or cafes open. The canal with the functioning water wheels were interesting. Definitely worth a look.

Worth a visit for the impressive baroque style and majesty. Avignon is full of ancient churches, and this is an excellent example.

Cool place to rest tired feet during a heat wave in August. Free to enter, very interesting interior. See the palace, then the cathedral, and end with a walk up to the park to the lookout point of the Avignon bridge.

Our Airbnb apartment was located just off of Rue de la Republique about halfway from the train station and the Palais des Papes. It is the Main Street of the old town. When my wife and I arrived in Avignon this past spring we confronted a yellow vest march coming down the Rue as we attempted to get to our Airbnb apartment. It was nonviolent, so it was not a problem.

More on the quieter side, this plaza is a breath of fresh air. Some very nice restaurants here, from Michelin quality to a cafeteria-style diner with very good food.

Very nice small museum in a beautiful old historical house in Avignon, which is giving a good idea of the typical 'provencal" private houses in the past centuries, and the visit is free

We enjoyed our time in this very old church mack to the 6 hundredth century. If only the large foot polished stones on the floor could talk. Beautiful in the eyes of the beholder. We enjoyed our special time in this place of worship and could feel it’s history. We are very fortunate these buildings have been preserved. So unassuming.

Beautiful building all dressed up with assorted flags, with shaded trees in the front inviting visitors to rest and enjoy the magnificent view. We did not go inside but we did enjoy admiring the exterior.

We arrived in Avignon by night on the river Rhone and were greeted by the Ferris Wheel. We could not wait and took a ride which gave us beautiful sights of Avignon.

A pleasant, relatively small square about a 10 minute walk from the town center. Trees and a covered area offer plenty of shade on a hot summers day. A couple of bars restaurants should you require refreshments. A lovely church to visit that has a courtyard and grounds that are used for festivals and exhibitions.
