Standing inside the cathedral adjacent to the altar rail you have this amazing view of the ceiling in the onion dome.

The cemetery is open and you can walk around and read the obituaries - it's really interesting as a lot of the names are British, German or Russian ... The monuments are beautiful and the views from atop stunning.
A knock-out view of Menton, my favourite Cote d’Azur town, and a very beautiful cemetary almost lulls you into a religious mood.

The site is beautifully restored, and a visit gives a great opportunity to learn about how monks lived a thousand years ago.
You will get a good sense of what monastic life in Medieval times must have been like at this well maintained historic site.

Great views, a place for a leisurely stroll leading onto the jardins de Paillon and Albert 1 jardins, surrounded by beautiful buildings and a huge fountain with a statue of Apollo.
The statues, the palm trees, the fountain jets, the steam effect and the view over the hills makes this city town square an outstanding highlight of Nice.

St. Paul de Mausole Saint-Remy-de-Provence
#79 of 949 Sights & Landmarks in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur
As with all popular sites the advice is to go early in the day, in spring or autumn, to avoid the crowds and get a feel for the place, the lives lived there, the history, beauty and sadness.
It is worth the visit just to see the surrounding area of nature with wonderful views of the trees and nature.

#81 of 949 Sights & Landmarks in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur
Very relaxing and the view is everything you imagined Provence to be- rolling hills, lavender, herbs, and cherry trees surrounding you.
The climb is quite steep, but the routes are well-made and going up at a gentle, careful pace is just as enjoyable as hurtling to the top at speed, allowing you to watch as the views unfold.

The chilling effect of the wind required hat and scarf and gloves, but the bonus was the fantastically clear blue sky which resulted, setting off the citadel and the views from it.

Site Archeologique de Glanum Saint-Remy-de-Provence

secluded between Saint Remy and les Baux de Provence Glanum is a magnificent archeological site....just to remind us that the Romans brought civilization to Provence and the love for wine.............
We can also thoroughly recommend the little restaurant there, the lunchtime food was fresh and there was a good selection to choose from - and the view whilst eating lunch was amazing!
