Extraordinary place! Just breathtakingly beautiful. Definitely recommend it and need some time to walk around the cathedral and take in the beauty!

Definately worth a walk round the old city center to admire the buildings and enjoy the atmosphere, no matter what time of the day it is. There are many nice sqares and places to sit down for a coffee or food.

Free art museum! Many masters present and no crowds. One of the only things open on Monday. Gorgeous and well worth an hour or so. I would have loved an audio guide or even a map/pamphlet- but nothing like that was available

Set in a building that the second Joan d’Arc trial took place and near the Cathedral. The cost of admission was €10:50 each, and we were given headphones and an explanation of how to use them.
We waited about 10 min for the next session to start and went through the building learning about her life and trial.
The audio/ multimedia is excellent and you get a real understanding of the person, why she was condemned, and then the second trial witnesses who gave a different viewpoint.
There are steep steps however a lift is available. At the top of the building you get a view of the city and it’s half timbered buildings .
If in Rouen you do need to visit

Just another beautiful piece of architecture in this historic town. Strolling along Rue du Gros Horloge and you can’t miss this amazing archway. A fabulous sight and well worth spending time to admire.

If you come during the day you can pay to see it from the inside. We were however there at night so we only saw it from the outside, which was also nice - and for free.

The title says it all. The square is gorgeous, loads of lovely old buildings with plenty of cafes. Unfortunately in the middle is an archetypal example of modern art. To make matters worse it’s a church!! 🤦‍♀️

Originally walked along the back and the holes from Allied bombing and made sense during the fighting for France war means needless damage. Vast building showing the wealth of the city.

We stumbled upon this and it was quite cool. it was all different iron pieces. The building itself was also quite pretty. You can't spend too much time the museum but if you have any extra time in Rouen, I'd recommend stopping in.

We were disappointed to find the church closed on our first visit, but excited to find it open on the following morning. While the exterior of this small church is modern and not particularly impressive when compared to the centuries-old cathedral down the street, the real beauty of this holy place lies inside, in the soaring wood ceilings and floor-to-ceiling stained glass that fill the space with gorgeous light. Don't pass this up!

Rue Saint Romain runs through the very city center by the imposing Cathedral. It's an old medieval street with terrific edifices, half timbered houses and cute artisan stores, cafes and eateries.

This elevated spot in Rouen eastern suburbs is a great introduction to this beautiful city. If you're arriving by car from Paris like us, it's on your way. There's a free parking lot in front (for around 15 cars) and from the terrace you have an unobstructed view of Rouen and river Seine. The grandeur of the Rouen Cathedral is best seen from here.
On this same spot famous impressionist Monet was coming to paint his panoramas from here.

Rouen has three outstanding Churches: the imposing Rouen Cathedral, the Saint-Ouen Abbey and this one - St. Maclou Church.
You cannot tell which one's more beautiful, so I suggest visiting all three. This makes no special effort at all, as all of them are in a 1 km radius, literally 7, 8 min walk one from another.

Would have happily paid to enter but realised it was free when we got here. Huge park, brilliant plants and flowers all around and plenty to see. Ice cream shop doing a roaring trade when we came as very hot day. Loos could do with a bit more maintenance but they're free so can't complain too much. Definitely do this when in Rouen and worth the 30 min walk from city centre too.
