What travelers are saying
- suntan47Chelmsford, UK1,045 contributionsVisited from our river cruise ship .
We had a local guide on the journey to the venue. This was very useful as they explained what each scene was showing , the history and what we should look out for .
They are not permitted inside to talk you through the visit. However you are provided with a telephone like handset which guides you through the tapestry scenes . It can be a bit fast but you’re fine to “ backtrack “ .Luckily it wasn’t too busy the afternoon we went .
At present it’s set up behind glass in a “U” shape. There is a new museum being built which will house the tapestry in an unbroken line .
There was also an exhibition about the Vikings & lots of information about how the tapestry was embroidered. Interesting to read & see .
Thought this was a brilliant visit & so glad we went , certainly recommend this.

- Lauren B5 contributionsThe Ciderie is a very simple, beautiful establishment and we were treated so kindly by the host. We were able to try about eight different products, and they were very affordable to take home with us! We enjoyed their ciders at several picnics we had later in our European vacation!
