With loads of cafes and bars, the Grand Place is a great place to chill and watch the world go by. On average the places are on the pricy side but they get a lots of tourist traffic, so can afford to be.

Lille has lots of interesting historical architecture and the Grand Place boasts some good examples

Beautiful building housing a fine collection of art well worth a visit.
You are guaranteed to find something that appeals in this gallery, well worth the entrance fee as you simply lose track of time

A lovely spot in the park to have a break for an hour or so. Very reasonably priced at 6 euros and they’ve got a nice array of animals including rhinos, monkeys, red panda, maned wolf and lots of smaller animals, amphibians and birds.

There a small gift shop and takeaway drinks cabin too.

About a 20 minute walk from the centre of old hills (sadly no metro stops nearby).

There’s also a well maintained children’s fun far next to the zoo with lots of different rides fir small children. Plus there’s a cafe with plenty of outdoor seating in the party near the entrance too.

Nice to see lots of local families out enjoying the sunshine!

A very distinctive building. Certainly worth stopping by whilst you are in the Grand Place area. Stalls in the interior selling old books, posters, maps and the like!

Not a fan of going round city centre art galleries I found this modern art museum really interesting being on a small scale and situated in a park

You will find Librairie Furet du Nord or the Ferrets of the North Bookstore on the Grand Place.
I love a book store and this shop has been operating since 1960! It claims to be the largest book shop in Europe but I'm not sure having visited Blackwells in Oxford?
Obviously most of the books are not written in English but there are sections, here and there, where a display of English books on a particular genre are available for sale. The only catch is the price. I spotted, for example, a copy of a recently released paperback by one of my favourite writers but it was nearly three times the price I would pay back home. I'm not sure why?

Outside of the books on sale there are some wonderful stationery items and I picked up some unique individual postcard/ notelets which I will use for Thank you messages etc in the future.

The staff here were very helpful and there was some good information, particularly maps. There was an information leaflet aimed at younger tourists....early 20s or so it seemed...but take it and read it as its full of useful information about lots of places suitable for all.

Attended the stade for RWC2023, SCO v ROM. Generally a good experience for seeing the rugby match. An apparently necessary but burdensome system of queueing to get in, but once inside all facilities worked well.

Well worth a visit, low cost entry. Varied exhibits providing a lot of interest. On our visit the place had numerous children's groups, who all seemed to be totally captivated, especially in the 'creepy crawly' section. I feel that the lighting could be improved, especially in the 'stuffed birds' section.

Great views and information about Lille from the tower. Get here early if the town is busy as only a limited number are allowed in at a time. We went on a rugby weekend so it was busy and they had to turn away people to come later for the afternoon session.

Visiting this house is a pleasant way to spend an hour or 2 in Lille. The staff are friendly & helpful.
The audio guide in English (included in the 6€ entry fee) is informative & gives an insight into the life and times of a Lille family around 1900. There is some information about the young CdG, as expected.
This is also one of the few museums etc that is open on a Monday ✔️.

Interesting enough for a quick visit, but not exactly enthralling. Had a wander around part of the perimeter.

Interesting experience - to go there for shopping and get fresh local food or flowers (textil and similarities too, but not local in this case :D). Lively marketing, people everywhere, you can buy warm meal - around the square are restaurants. The atmosphere was great. I would recomend this activity every visitors :)!
