- Terry MHamilton, Canada4,921 contributionsThe bridge dates from the 11th century. I've read its construction dates from 1040 or 1060. It is one of France's oldest bridges. I was able to get a very good view of it from the Palais de la Berbie while touring the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum. Note the different arches from slightly more pointed near water's edge to rounded in the middle.Written November 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna_Maria39_11Winnipeg, Canada649 contributionsI would have missed prioritizing this area if I hadn’t seen it on Trip Advisor as I was researching my day trip to Albi. This was a wonderful area to walk through, my camera was out the entire time. There are treasures to capture the eye at every turn. I was highly captivated by French shutters and the bountiful window boxes and plants covered each doorway. My imagination had me back in time wondering what it would be like to live where you would be completely embedded with your neighbourhood. The streets are cobblestone and hilly and walking could be slow going for some.Written October 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lananarryAdelaide, Australia90 contributionsLaperouse has a special interest for Australians because his visit to Botany Bay in 1788 coincided with the recent arrival of Arthur Phillip who established British settlement in Austraia.
This museum tells the story from the French viewpoint and so provides a different perspective from that which is usually provided in Anglophone texts.
The museum is small but well set out and interesting and informative.Written May 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is rather large. In addition to places to relax, you can find a labyrinth, a lake, an island and a classic garden. The park will put you in chill mode.Written November 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cynthia BHouston, TX80 contributionsThis was a charming place. We stayed 2 nights, and our room was quite spacious with a large place to hang things and a bunch of convenient cubbies (it might have been a dorm at one time, dunno). The color of our room was a bright orange-yellow, which is different and looks a little dated, but was ok. The bathroom was a little small and no place in the shower to put your things - I really can't stand that. Otherwise, it was a very quiet place and spacious.
The breakfast room is spacious and lovely! You sit at your own table, and the people are friendly and greet you by offering you what you'd like. My husband and I asked for an omelette and hard-boiled eggs, which they made for us on the spot. They give you great coffee, bread, yogurt, fruit, juices, cereal, etc.. So it was a nice way to start the day in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
It is located right in Albi where everything is walking distance, so it's very convenient. We used their parking garage, but it was quite a feat to drive through those little streets to find this garage door! Also it's a VERY tight space, and with our rented SUV, it was quite a challenge to turn it into the garage and park. The woman who runs the place was kind to open the garage for us and guide us in. It's great, however, to have a place to leave your car safely.Written October 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
