First time of seeing the Tower at night. We went to the summit at 8pm and WOW what an experience.
Staff friendly but it is very expensive
It was my husband's 50th and daughter's 10th, so we decided to have two glasses of wine and a hot chocolate at 30+ euros

    Definitely a must do.

Here are some tips for visiting the world's most famous museum. If you're not an expert in art history, and to avoid finding the visit boring, choose a single period and try to understand the evolution of themes, techniques, and the history of contemporary society during that time. You'll enjoy viewing the collection of paintings much more and will pique your curiosity to replicate the experience with a new period. The Louvre Museum is a wonderful encyclopedia for open and curious minds.

Loved this museum which houses some of the greatest impressionist works you will see anywhere (head straight for the 5th floor at opening time to see the best galleries before it becomes too busy). Also, don't miss the famous clock face with views to Sacré-Cœur.

We were fortunate to get free tickets on line 3 days before our visit. The line met right in front of church and moved very quickly. Absolutely stunning inside with so many beautiful statues and stained glass. A must visit in Paris.

A gorgeous garden. We were there early in the morning and had the place pretty much to ourselves, as you can see in the pictures, so we could appreciate its beauty without any crowds, which was great.

How amazing to walk under and around this stunning Arc. To sit and watch the madness of the roundabout.
Gaze at the flame on the memorial of the unknown soldier.
You can go to the top but we had a flight to catch but will do it next time

The river Seine is at the heart of Paris and provided the main backdrop of the Olympic opening ceremony. I walked for several kilometers along its bank, past many well-known sites, riverside book, and painting sellers, and found a marvelous café called Lacroix Pâtissier just across the river from the Notre Dame Cathedral.

For info: the Seine is 777km long, starting at Source-Seine (30km northwest of Dijon) before flowing through Paris and into the English Channel at Le Havre.

An historic neighbourhood of Paris, full of art! Very nice to visit during daytime, have coffee or food or wine. There is long distance from center, so maybe you prefer to take a taxi. It is a bit crowded but it’s ok. Save one day for your visit to there!

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a grandiose interior. The ceilings are painted with exquisite scenes from opera productions, and the space feels as if it could host an event from another time.

Agustina (our tour guide) was an absolute pleasure! She was extremely knowledgeable, about all things French, and certainly about all things surrounding Marais. She took the time explaining to us about this beautiful neighborhood. A neighborhood that has historically kept its arms opened to different people who were in need of acceptance at different times throughout turbulent moments in history. It is an absolutely charming neighborhood that is rich in history. The stories, some of them heartbreaking and some of them uplifting remind us that humanity is often cruel, but is often very kind as well. Especially in terms of communities working together.
We were so lucky to have such a personable, knowledgeable, and kind tour guide to show us this beautiful corner of Paris. She answered every question without hesitation, and was so easy to engage in conversation. She was an absolute delight! I strongly recommend this tour, and if you can request yourGuide? I suggest you request Agustina. I promise she will not disappoint!

You’ve seen pictures of Ste. Chappelle, which appear often in travel literature and books about Paris, but no photo can do it justice.

Ste. Chappelle is maybe 200 yards west of Notre Dame. It is a compact space in very high demand, so you will want to book a timed ticket well ahead of your visit. Due to heightened security, even with a timed ticket you may have to wait (ours was about 45 minutes past the set time). Unfortunately, the complaints on this site about the poor line management are true - make sure you have a timed ticket, but anticipate a wait.

They take the excellent Paris Museum Pass.

It’s worth the wait. The core of Ste Chappelle is a large chapel with stained windows from the 1500s. The detailed windows have countless Biblical scenes from the Old and New Testaments. They have guides to help you find them and it is fun looking for things like the ark, Adam & Eve, David & Goliath, etc.

Look closely at the large rosette window at the back, which has scenes from the Book of Revelation, including multi-headed beasts and dragons.

A few notes: The chapel is on the second level of the building, and access may be difficult for those with mobility limitations. Some of the windows are also undergoing renovation, so portions are covered by scaffolding.

This is one of the most beautiful sites in Paris. It’s more than worth a visit even if the wait is longer than it should be.

This bridge is beautiful. Simple and elegant. If you’re lucky enough to be there on a sunny day, the way the sun lights up the golden statues is just incredible!!

A lovely museum. It’s not crowded, one of the few in Paris that you don’t need to book a time. The sculpture garden is lovely, manicured trees and bushes with regular sculptures. The house has a lot more, including some impressionist and post impressionist paintings. Well worth a visit.
