What travelers are saying
- Neil KLiverpool, UK617,150 contributionsWalking around the wonderful 3rd Arrondissement on a beautiful spring afternoon I passed through Square Du Temple-Elie Wiesel and what a great find.
Established in 1857 , this was one of 24 city squares created by George Eugene Haussmann and Jean Charles Adolphe Alphand .
This park stands on the site of a medieval fortress built by the Knights Templar ,used as a prison during the French Revolution and eventually demolished in the 19th century ,today it's a beautiful park area that's just so serene ,it's named in honour of renowned Romanian born American writer ,professor ,political activist ,noble laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel,it's most definitely a park to check out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Rue De Bretagne .Written June 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Notable because the Bievre used to flow here, the Gobbelins are close by, and Paris' first skyscraper (ugly!) sits next door. - Jonas AStockholm, Sweden959 contributionsGarden Nelson Mandela is a modern park for recreation and perhaps rest near Les Halles. However it’s proximity to the commuter train station makes it hard to break free from a feeling of stress with busy people from all walks of life rushing by.Written November 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FilipovicNSplit, Croatia61 contributionsQuiet place far away from ordinary turistic toures and routes. Not too large, good for family, picnic, sport...simple having a calm day.Written July 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara Joy CSanibel Island, FL148 contributionsThe Parc Sainte Perine was expanded and renovated last year, so we decided to explore it. We found there a superb place to spend a warm summer afternoon. The flowerbeds are spectacular, and there is plenty of space for sunbathing. There are paved pathways for strolling through the central part of the park, and trails for "hiking" in the natural, wooded areas on each end of the park. The park size is now a little over 9 acres in size; even on a perfect day, we found it to be uncrowded and serene. It is a veritable arboretum, with many very old, magnificent trees. And yet there is also ample open space for enjoying the sun. Go there, and enjoy!Written July 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand20,088 contributionsThis park area is for playing in. There are seats on one end for chatting. In the middle, there is a table tennis table but it looks like you need to supply your own ball and paddles. The other other end there is a children's playground. The place is quite large so there is enough space for a few children to run and chase after balls or each other.
There is a fence around the whole park and another around the playground. There is a small path around the playground circumference where you can keep watch of children without getting run over by them. Quite a nice place for those with children.Written May 3, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice place to cool down and summarize your impressions.Written January 30, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
