Highly recommend going up the Eiffel tower. It is a brilliant piece of engineering and has amazing views at the summit of all of Paris. I suggest buying a ticket online in advance and getting there early to avoid the queues.

Paris is a bit hot in August but we still had a nice time. Make sure you buy an umbrella for sudden down pours. The Louvre is worth seeing but its all classical & very busy so if you want to see impressionists look at some other musee

The view from/along this bridge is a masterpiece, they certainly knew how to make a statement when they drew up this design. The bridge just frames the beautiful surrounding buildings.

We come here on every trip to Paris because the architecture is so harmonious and beautiful that it charms our souls. But this is also a good place to enjoy a glass of wine under the arcades. Some fancy restaurants here, and the neighborhoods around are dynamic.

We had a wander around this cemetery on a hot July day and it was so peaceful. We paid our respects to Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Modigliani and of course, Jim Morrison. Even without these famous people, it really is a beautiful cemetery if you can say such a thing.

We once lived on this island, home of exquisite Renaissance architecture. Take a slow walk around the quais and read the marks telling which famous people lived in the beautiful houses. Now the central shopping street is now longer a village atmosphere, now the land of ice cream Still beautiful.

The Hotel de Ville is Paris's impressive City Hall. Original buildings from 1535-1628 were burned down during the French Revolution. It was rebuilt to original designs in 1874-82. Very attractive chateau style. The Olympic Rings are prominently displayed outside, because Paris is the host for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

We have rented apartments in this area several times and love to return for the huge assortment of cafes, food shops, and restaurants. Some of the best food shopping ever. Very busy from lunch time forward.

This is the best place to take photos of the Eiffel Tower, and indeed when you come here you will find many people posing. The views are terrific, no matter the weather. And you can see a lot of the city as well.

Place de la Concorde is a huge public square where many important events in French history took place, including all of the royal beheadings during the French Revolution. The centerpiece is a 3,400 year old obelisk from Luxor, which was a gift from Egypt. There are also 2 immense attractive fountains.

Eglise de la Madaleine doesn't look like a typical Catholic church -- no dome, steeple or bell tower. Resembles an ancient Greek temple with 52 Corinthian columns each 66 ft tall. Disappointed that much of the exterior is undergoing major renovations, but interior is quite spectacular --particularly the statue of Mary Magdalene on the main altar. Opened as a Catholic church in 1842.

Beautiful royal palais built in 1615-45 with huge gardens (60 acres) containing over 100 statues honoring the Queens of France and other famous French women. Very popular spot to Parisiennes to relax. The palace is now the home of the French Senate since 1799-1805 and was enlarged in 1835-56.

Place Vendome is another public square and only a five-minute walk from the largest and most famous square - the Place de la Concorde.

The enormous Vendome column stands proudly at the centre of the square.

Surrounding the square are high-end and exclusive jewellery shops and also some top hotels like the Ritz and Vendome.

Very nice and relax place to walk, seat in a bench t people pass by. It is hidden right opposite Louvre. The garden and the fountain are beautiful, also there are many shops around the terrace if you want to have a look. Lots of familied and kids playing around the courtyard and the garden.
Very impressive and unique are the black and white columns in the courtyard, great place for photography. The Palais Royal is a lovely building with amazing architecture but not accessible to the public.
A quiet oasis in the city centre.
