Nothing reminds now of the Place de Grève, the place of executions and the guillotine of the turbulent days of the French Revolution. The nowadays square is beautiful, vibrant, full of street performers, children chasing soap bubbles, tourist groups… The 19th century building built in French Renaissance style has become iconic symbol of Paris. Never a dull moment there…

Sadly, this was under renovation when we visited, but the building is beautiful nonetheless. This is one of Paris' hallmarks that must be seen in person

I didn’t go inside the palace but I walked around the outside. It is a very beautiful building and looks quite old. It is definitely worth walking around and seeing the architecture.

The building itself is worth the visit. We had gotten a recommendation from a friend and we loved the place. We did not understand all of the exhib but again; the building is beautiful.

Across from the Louvre is the city hall building for the 1st district, a noble classic imposing building that sometimes has special expos.

This historic building is open to the public on two days a year. It has a rich history and well-restored rooms where milestones in France’s history played out. Napoleon Bonaparte’s brother then his mother stayed in this house. Charles de Gaulle’s office was also here.
It is now the site for France Defence Offices.

The Hotel de Toulouse is the representative seat of the national Bank of France, originally a city palace built by Francois Mansart. The Bank can be visited about roughly on one Saturday each months done by guides from Paris Historique or during the Journees Patrimoine (typically the 3rd weekend in September). The highlight of the tour is the Golden Gallery, but the council chamber can be visited as well. The golden gallery is just breathtaking full with statues, gilded in gold and paintings,

The modalities of group tours or individuals can be found on the webpage of the Banque de France
