We picked the right time, 4pm. When we arrived it was daylight and then we got to watch the sun set over Paris while touring the Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend this tour. The experience was beyond anything I can put in words, just a must see, once in a lifetime experience. Of course, Juliens knowledge, and pleasant demeanor just added to it. We did it in one day from Paris. A long day, but definitely doable. - dalethorleyKnoxville, TN5 contributionsLucia guided us in and around for a far better experience than if we would have tried to do it ourselves. We had plenty of time to see the masterpieces and the Napolean III apartments. Lucia was spectacular with her pace and her knowledge. Her English was wonderful with no issues understanding her. We were a family of 5 and ended up spending 2:45 minutes with her. The little things like getting in and out and checking coats were much appreciated. However, the knowledge she gave us was invaluable to the experience otherwise would have been a lot of work to make sure we knew what we were seeing. You meet with the tour guide before the Louvre opens to ensure you are at the front of the line to get into the museum (there is no special early entry time included).
Before the museum opened our guide Ana spoke to us about the history of the Louvre and the architecture. She also went over the entrance procedures and security so we could get in as fast as possible.
The doors opened and we got through security as fast as possible and then Ana led us on a run through the halls of the Louvre to get to the Mona Lisa. My children were very amused by our quick run through the museum past so many other beautiful pieces, but Ana kept encouraging us to keep up the pace and in the end it was worth it.
We were the first to enter the room with the Mona Lisa and we were able to enjoy it and get some great photos.
But our adventure didn't end there, Ana continued to guide us through the top highlights of the Louvre always seeming to stay one step ahead of the crowds that were coming in. The hour and thirty minutes flew by, but we accomplished so much in that time period.
After Ana left, we stayed in the Louvre and wandered around at our own pace.
