The food and service and the trip itself were just fine. We've done these dinner cruises before, so we got what we expected from it. There was an 8 Euro charge for a bottle of sparkling water, and that was okay. I paid with a 20 Euro note, and the man conducting the transaction told me that "service was included" in what I had already paid, and did I want any change. I told him that I would like my 12 Euro change back. He never brought it, so before we left the boat, I asked for my change. He looked at me as if I had taken milk from his baby and gave me the 12 Euros. I'm always generous with my tipping, even in places like France where tipping is not expected. I always round up for taxis and often give more than the usual amount. I did not expect this kind of treatment and was disappointed. If the meal is "service included," then that's it, minus the snide looks.
