What a wonderful day! Fun cultural experience! In addition to cooking a wonderful French meal, learned some tips that apply to all cooking. The dessert we made was the floating island, which was easy and incredible. That evening I went to a restaurant with the same on the menu, and what I made for lunch was far superior! Next time back in Paris I will try another class!
Sara was an amazing teacher and made the whole experience fun, inclusive and rewarding. My biggest concern was whether the process could be replicated at home. The attached photo is taken of my first attempt about a week after the lesson! Thank you for the experience - very recommended!
Marian welcomed us to her lovely apartment and we proceeded to cook a leek/salmon quiche, Basque chicken, and lemon tart. She was helpful with directions and her experience and insights. We appreciate that very much but are disappointed that we have yet to recieve the promised recipes for our dinner. We tried to contact via Trip Advisor but no path for that and frankly not happy with that lack of attention. If she receives this review, please follow up and send recipes as you have my email contact. Also your "sort of visit " options does not match us. We are a family of two parents and two adult children not teens.
I booked the Making Macarons class for my granddaughter and myself. There were six of us plus our instructor. This is as such a fun class in such a beautiful place. I’m would definitely book other classes when I return.
What a great experience! Have to say, they sent us the wrong time to meet Catherine at the market and we called wondering where she was. She RAN to the market to meet us and felt so bad. We felt bad she had to run but it didn’t dampen a thing. She is lovely and her place is so beautiful. It really gives you a true Parisian experience and less touristy to get to visit a real Parisian apt and see her antiques and way of life. The food was so simple and so so good. Makes you stop and realize we don’t need to add and add for flavor but keep it simpler and let the food sing. We will do again next time we come to Paris!
Our cooking class at Le Foodist was an amazing experience! Chef Frédéric is the best, really funny and engaging with very interesting insights about dishes. A great teacher! We had a group of 8, we made Dubarry, Gratin Dauphinois, Coq au Vin Ballotine and Poured Belle Hélène that were beyond delicious and beautiful. Everything about Le Foodist was perfect!
What an amazing experience while in Paris. Stephane was a wonderful host. We learned not only how to make crepes, but also the history of crepe making. It was a fun family experience, our daughters are 13 and 16 and they LOVED the hands on process of making crepes. We even learned a new egg cracking technique that I used this morning cracking eggs for breakfast. We are looking forward to making crepes at home and feel confident that we can come close to the delicious ones we made with Stephane at Caramel Sarrasin. If you are looking for a fun activity while in Paris, don't miss this crepe making class!
The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend this experience as you are part of the whole process from tasting the different wines, to mixing and creating your own blend and finally sealing and labelling the wine.
This was the most wonderful experience. We learned to make 4 flavors of macarons in 2 hours! Frédéric was a fantastic host and guide. Very knowledgeable in more than pastry, and the choice of music in the kitchen was great. I highly recommend.
Francois, the guide, was magnificent - he was so entertaining and informative. He tailored the experience to our culinary preferences on the day. I thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and bar and cafe choices. I was in his hands, and he did not disappoint. Not only did I try things for the first time, I learned so much about French cuisine and their origins. A truly great time.
Good cheese, good wine, good company, can’t really ask for more. Oh yeah, we learned a lot too! We learned about food and wine pairings, French food culture, French history and we got to see what a French village looked like before they were replaced by the apartment buildings you see now in Paris. This was a wonderful cultural experience.
