I have not visited it all but whatever I have in the last week this is by far my favourite place to be in Paris.
What a vibe. It takes us back through time, and it’s not just the store or the collection of books( both are very impressive though) the reading room with various types of sitting, a grand piano open to playing (and someone did play it very well indeed) , typewriters to write, and a room with a setup lost in centuries, it was just perfect. But the most important aspect was the congregation of like minded souls just basking in the atmosphere each having their own magic.
It seemed as if past had not moved on and the books on display (to read but not buy) we’re just the icing on the cake.
Had I missed this I wouldn’t have completed my trip to Paris.
Thank you Shakespeare and company for keeping this feeling alive for the many others like me.
Bravo. Take a bow.
