We highly recommend this chocolatier to friends and travelers. This is the only place that we shop at. There are other chocolat shops in St. Malo but we think their chocolat, patisseries, and macaroons are highly superior to any other shop. They offer tea, coffee, and a lovely small area to sit outside to enjoy a treat and many items to take away.

We stopped into this little gem of a shop before driving to Paris for a river boar cruise on the Seine in 2016

If one were not in Saint Malo for anything else, La Maison du Beurre Bordier would be a sufficient reason for visiting the town. Excellent butter, a fine selection of cheese, and expert advice on what to purchase make this establishment a must.

This place was recommended by a restaurant server and my hotel host for authentic Kouign-Amman.
It's a small store, but they sell lots of chocolates, sweets, and most importantly, kouign-amman. You can buy small, individual size ones for €2 or the larger ones for €8-10. The larger ones you can take and can last up to 2 weeks.
The owner was nice, helpful and spoke some English. If you buy the small ones, you can get it warmed up on the spot to eat it immediately. It was great with a light crunchyness texture on top.
I was not able to try their other goods.

Difficult to find, unless you know exactly where it is - however, well worth persevering - lovely selection of items, reasonable priced. Bought lots for gifts and ended up keeping them all for Me!
    Will definitely go back.

I first discovered la Maison Georges Larnicol in Honfleur, so when I came upon one in Saint Malo I did not hesitate to return. Their chocolates are delicious!

Again, this year as in the past, this is our favorite place to purchase wine. The staff are extremely helpful, patient with my French and photos, and can make suggestions. The prices are very reasonable, the shop was delightfully air conditioned, and easy to find.
