Probably one of the most beautiful settings we both have ever seen, almost like an english version of the lake palace at udapure india absalutely beautiful setting, a small train almost takes you down to the castle on a long drive then the vista opens up in front of u a small visitor centre at the gates then a long treed carriage drive down to it we both had a wonderfull trip round here almost a day we spent just bathed in the sheer beauty of the place we were staying in headcorn nearby whichbitself is a beautiful village. A wonderful culmination to a lovely week further down on kent coast

Welcomed on arrival by volunteer Beth, our son spent the hour in the company of four different owls, being able to handle them all, all while learning a load of interesting facts delivered with such enthusiasm by Beth and her colleague. The smiles on his face when the his last owl was flown to him for feeding were priceless.

It’s clear that the team know their stuff and love what they do.

    Highly recommended.

Kent life is not too packed and has lots to do for young children - petting animals, looking at owls and meerkats, making pottery and generally exploring the estate. The outside play area and soft play are also decent as is the cafe. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Not really enough to do for a full day, but decent for what it is.

A lovely quaint old house which is beautifully kept. It doesn't take long to look around. The volunteers are there should there be any questions. If you like old homes and architecture then worth checking out. There isn't a cafe here so you don't need long to look around.

Have been here many times and every time it has always been such a pleasure. My last visit was just this weekend. I took my toddler along as he adores the animals and the tractor. He loves to sit on it and make all the tractor noises, only wish there were more to play on as all the kids there wanted a go, understandably!
Great fun to see the animals, saw chickens, ducks and pigs while we were there. Went on a nice little walk through the orchards too.
It's a great place to take the children and somewhere I will visit often.

Visited today 18/07/21 for a picnic. Got there 1205 and it was already busy, most car park places taken most shaded areas already full!
It got to 31c at its hottest, fortunately the shade really helped.
A couple of morons with loud music from their cars otherwise crowds well behaved

Our wedding day. Fabulous location, wonderful organisation and great food. Can’t think of a better place to get married in the area.

We went on a very nice dog walk around the reserve and you can really tell how much work has been put in to make it look so beautiful. The ponds are beautiful and everything is clean.

Went here for the first time on Monday to see Jim Davidson.
Friendly staff, a lot of stairs to walk up to the main area. Nice bar and plenty of seating places. Toilets clean but need updating.
The theatre itself is small but still very nice. Good sound and lighting. Seats weren’t uncomfortable. Will return

There are two playgrounds here, but the wooden adventure playground is by far the better one. There is also a nice wooden walk with a log bridge above the playground. Note, there is no parking on that side of the river. Park over by the football ground (meters) and walk across the bridge.

We complete a 5+ mile walk. On site is £1.70 for parking at the weekend (£1.20 during week) You can park free in some areas close by.

The parking height restriction for White Horse Wood Country Park is 2m (6.5ft) and it closes (gates locked) at dusk.

We enjoyed most of the walk we did. However, we used OS maps for our walk and two areas of the walk were impossible (Overgrown and unmaintained). Not a fault of the park, as these are public footpath areas.

    It's a great place for a picnic.

We spotted a Spitfire and Lancaster bomber during the walk, flying over us (Air show on somewhere)

We spotted people flying various small craft on one part of the hill area of the park, as well as manual (air take off) parachute style flying.

Within the park, a great place for many, many blackberries

I was looking forward to a visit to teapot island. What a disappointment. I was expecting at quaint tea room with loads of tea pots around.
It’s a CAFE which charges you to go in to the tea pot room. So didn’t see many tea pots and had an all day breakfast instead. Don’t get me wrong it’s all ok. They sell cakes and cream teas etc but I guess times have changed and they can’t make a living just selling tea and cakes.
