This was a nice change from all the ruins to see what the castle looked as a residence. The castle was beautiful and the artwork was amazing. We did the guided tour and our guide was great. She able to answer all of our questions.

Great visit to this wonderful museum. John was so kind to speak with us on the fascinating history of Kilkenny and helped give us an understanding of the storied past.

What an impressive Cathedral . with the Tower adding a different dynamic compared to the standard Cathedral.

Walking around the outside was already impressive.

Fortunately we visited in April so it was not to busy & everything was open to. There are different ticket options , either to just visit the Cathedral or to include climbing the Tower to. If you able to climb the Tower .

Worth a visit to see the stain glass windows alone. Key part of the medieval history of Kilkenny. Small attraction but one not to be missed.

Just had a fabulous afternoon while visiting with my Mother from Thomastown Nursing Home. Lenny and murph were great showing us around on the buggy. We will definitely be back. My Mam thoroughly enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The woman in the gift shop explained what I would see and there was signs throughout that provided additional information. It was very interesting to see how a successful merchant family lived and how the family lost and won back their fortune depending on the prevailing political winds. The gardens were lovely to visit and the gardener was very informative.

We had so much fun with Peter and others who signed up to learn the Kilkenny Way! So much fun in fact, we ordered hurleys and Sliotars for our entire family from the Hurling Depot!
Totally worth it (even after arriving late the night before from a long a drive)! Lanigans was great too and easily accommodated our daughter's peanut allergy.

    Thanks, Peter, Andrew and PJ!

Loved the Jerpoint Abbey ruins and visitor center. This ruin was what made me go looking for more. It is easy to find with good parking.

What a fun experience! The proprietor personally showed us the ruins of a lost city and the grave of St. Nicholas. The proprietor was witty and full of fascinating information. He also gave us a demonstration of his sheep dog working the sheep. Fun for kids and adults!

This cathedral in Kilkenny is very impressive, inside and out. The stained glass windows are particularly nice.

It was great to visit this atmospheric institution, not only for the plentiful information available but also because of its lengthy history.

Established in the late 1500s for the indigent and destitute of the city, a service it continued to provide until the early 1800s.

By the way, the staff told us that the Information Office is imminently relocating to new premises. They didn’t know what role this evocative building will have in the future.

This is the heart of old town of Kilkenny. Very narrow street lined up with tourist shops. Interesting to visit.

We visited Kilkenny for the first time and our first stop was the road train.

It wasn't too busy and cost €23 for a family ticket, 2+2.

The tour lasted 30 minutes and took us around the city centre and nearby land marks which was interesting whilst a recorded commentary played. We were able to identify where the main shopping street was and places we wanted to visit afterwards.

The train was fun for both adults and children. There's a step up into the train with no places for folk in wheelchairs or pushchairs, so unfortunately less able folk and young kids in chairs are not catered for.

Worth a ride for the fun factor and seeing the City.

As Kilkenny was one of the last stops on our Ireland trip, we had already seen our fill of churches -- but this one looked very nice and the grounds with its green grass was very inviting, so we went in for a look. It was a very nice looking church with impressive high ceilings and stained glass windows. Worth a short stop if your in the vicinity.
